Hello everyone!
I'm Francesco (everyone calls me Chico), I like travelling (who doesn't?) and just want to try my first workaway. I'm happy to learn new languages and I'm a cheesecake enthusiast. I have no idea if this bio needs to be serious or fun so I'm trying a bit of both. Planning to start my Nordic adventure soon!
For the serious part, I have a big background on translations and localisation and QA stuff, as for the most part of the last 10 years I was working translating videogames. I have also a big experience in Hospitality, since I worked for a couple of years in different hotels and I also happen to have majoured in Tourism in university.
I don't have a lot of experience with DIY and basic life stuff, like fixing things, carpentry, gardening, manual labor and etc... which is one of the reasons I am here, as I am hoping to pick up a few skills and improve on that front. And another reason I'm here is because I have always been very fortunate on my trips, since I always had people taking good care of me wherever I went to, so now I would like to try workaway, as I would like to do something in return for whoever needs something. I am just trying to balance things and give something back to the universe, in any way I can.
For the fun and goofy part, I have also spent a lot of time during this last 7 years travelling to many places, mostly in Europe, but also some places in the Middle Eastern and North Africa too (fun fact, my Corona virus story is that I was stuck in Siberia during lockdown for 6 months). I love nature, quiet and peaceful places especially, but I also enjoy big cities (London and Firenzw are my favourite cities in the world). I absolutely love winter and snow, big fan of cold weather, but I also appreciate a nice beach day. Thunderstorms make me very happy, as much as trying a local dessert (I am also an ice cream enthusiast, chocolate lover and fan of all things sweet). They usually go well with binging series on streaming services (I think I have most of them).
I am just excited to start this, I have no idea what to expect but I am hoping it's a good adventure. If you like what you read, don't hesitate to get in touch, I am always happy to meet new people and explore new places!
