Description
Hey, nice to meet you,
I'm Bruno, 22 years old, and I'm currently planning a 3-month stay in Ireland, which I‘d really like to spend as a Workawayer.
I‘m looking forward to learning a lot of new things by working practically and by engaging with the Irish way of life. As I‘m in the last quarter of my studies to become a teacher in Germany, I‘m sure these three months where I can get away from studying to actively assisting someone else will make a lovely change for me.
To give you a better idea of who you would, maybe, invite to your home: I‘m an open-minded, empathetic, adaptable and sociable person who treats others and their belongings with respect. In Germany, I‘ve been living in a shared apartment with a good friend for about 4 years, and she and I share the household chores equally. Besides that, I have a bit of practical experience in various contexts such as tutoring, working in retail, painting walls or fences, and gardening. Although I don‘t have a lot of specific qualifications yet, I‘m very curious to learn more, and I‘m a fast learner.
At the moment, I'm studying to become a secondary school teacher - for A-levels or ’Gymnasium,‘ to everyone who is familiar with the German school system; my subjects are English and political/social studies.
I grew up on the countryside, moved to the city at the beginning of my studies, and I enjoy both environments. In my freetime, I like to sing, meet up with friends, play board games, learn languages - French, at the moment - or do sports like skiing, hiking and swimming. I used to sing in a choir for most of my schooltime, and even though I haven't regularly participated in any choirs for the past few years I am still passionate about it.
My reasons for selecting Ireland as my travel destination are pretty simple, to be honest: at uni, I have an Irish teacher, who I like very much, and whatever I hear about or see of Ireland just catches my interest. Really, I can't wait to hike through the beautiful landscapes of Ireland, get to know lovely people I have never met before, and learn lots of new things while organising, working and talking.
For now, this should be it; I hope you‘ve been able to get a bit of an idea of what I‘m like :)
I can‘t wait to get to know you and the Irish country! If you‘re interested in letting me help you with any task and showing me what your life is like, then please feel free to text me. I‘m also open to the idea of getting to know each other in a call or videocall - whatever works best for everyone involved.
I‘m looking forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards, Bruno

More details about your skills
Here’s a quick rundown of the experience and the skills I can bring to the table:
- firstly, and perhaps most obviously, I as a teacher trainee have already gathered quite some experience working with children and adolescents. In March 2025, I did a 4-week internship at a school, during which I also gave eight 90-minute lessons on my own. The students I taught were between 14-16 years old. Overall, I received good feedback from both the students and my mentor, and I enjoyed my time there a lot. I also used to privately tutor three pupils aged 10-14 for about three months. This was much more playful in its approach: for instance, we practised vocabulary by playing board games entirely in English.
- Additionally, I‘ve collected a bit of experience in more hands-on contexts. For example, I used to work at a hardware store as a summer job when I was still in school. I did that for about 2-3 weeks each year for 3 years. Besides interacting with customers there, I unpacked and shelved products ranging from heavy wooden planks to metalware, from paint buckets to plants.
- I have a bit of experience with practical (outdoor) work like painting fences and walls, piling up wood, removing weeds, mowing the lawn, and so on; I can also do other household chores like cleaning, cooking, doing the laundry, etc.
- I could imagine babysitting, but I have almost no experience in this specific area. However, if you’re comfortable with the idea of first explaining what I should and shouldn’t do, what to be cautious of, etc., I’d be happy to learn!
I‘m excited to get to know you, chat in English, and discover new things! Feel free to let me know if you can imagine hosting me :)
