Hiya! My names becca, i’m 19 and from England. I’ve been working as a gardener for the past three years, i work for a company and also work for clients privately. My work has taught me so much about the natural world and has also proven to me how much of a hard worker i am. I love my job however i’d love to put my skills to use and help people around the world who need a hand with their own projects. The idea of working for a good cause is a beautiful thing and it’s all i really want to do in life.
Living a vegan lifestyle is very close to my heart, i'd like to work for a cause that values and respects animals and sees them as equals, in my eyes it's our role as humans to look after and care for animals the same as we do for people.

I’ve been working as a gardener for the past 3 years, i work for a company and also work privately. My job has taught me so many valuable practical skills as well as improving my ability to problem solve, be innovative and creative with solutions. It’s expanded my appreciation and understanding of the natural world, the seasons, the importance of every animal and plant. As well as this it’s taught me to have a strong work ethic and to take pride in what i do, i’ve developed a lot of physical strength and endurance, im a hard worker and want to use my skills to help others around the world with their projects.
Aside from this, I also enjoyed my education, passed all of my GCSE’s and went into studying Law, Criminology, and Psychology at college. I loved learning about the court and criminal justice system as well as human behaviour and how our society is progressing. Although I found my courses interesting it helped me learn that i want to help the world in a more hands-on approach and it also taught me how much people need one another which is why Workaway is such an amazing opportunity for communities to come together and make a difference.

What else ...

Before committing to college and my job i used to be really into sport, i trained in kickboxing for 5 years, and am graded as a green belt. i also used to be really into netball, i’d train 4 times a week for my school and for a local club, i’d compete for my club and went into competing for South West Dorset in tournament in my county!
At the moment i don’t have much spare time for hobbies but im planning on getting back into kickboxing soon. Another smaller side-skill i have is cutting hair- im the designated barber in my tribe and i love getting creative with it and making my friends feel more comfortable and happy in their own skin. :)
