Hi, I'm Shelly. I'm new to workaday, I live in London and I'm excited to out of the city and see more of the countryside/France this summer. I enjoy cycling, bouldering, cinema, literature, theatre, hiking, canoeing & TikTok. I work as a psychotherapist, so I may need to work a few hours a week online remotely. I've been going to French classes this year but I'm very much a beginner. I have a teenage son, and he's away this summer for a few weeks, so I'd like to spend that time in France. I'm a thoughtful, intelligent, considerate person, who can chat on a range of subjects, particularly culture.
Skills wise, I have a lot of experience of looking after children and reading/chatting/playing games with them. I renovated a house myself -but a while back, so I have all the basic skills. I really love animals, so I'd welcome the chance to get to know any new ones. Gardening isn't my strong point but if I'm given clear instructions, then I'll probably manage it. I taught TEFL when young. Whilst I can't pretend to have the energy of a 20-something, I'm reasonably fit and strong as I cycle around, and climb too.
My diet is gluten-free, which is restrictive, so I understand if it's an issue. I'm also happy to cook for you too, I eat mainly salad, veg, rice, chicken & fish.

I have a TEFL CELTA & lots of experience in teaching English, but I'm only a beginner in French myself. I have good basic renovation skills, including painting. I can do gardening on clear instruction (see previous page). I love animals, so I'm happy to do any work involving animals. On the off chance it's needed, I have nearly 20 years experience in mental health as a psychotherapist, should there be any charity work. I can think creatively if needed, and enjoy problem-solving. And I've a lot of experience of childcare, and doing creative play with children.

I really enjoy board games and card games, I can pick up new games pretty easily. Also, I like table tennis or anything along those lines, such as pickleball, I like archery too
