I speak and write excellent English, and have worked as an English language teacher for many years, mostly in England but also in China, Sudan, Russia and Germany. I could probably teach German although I have only done this once.
I tend to think I can do anything I put my mind to (which is to say that I am overconfident :) but I enjoy trying new things. -

I'm writing this on my last evening before I leave Busselton. As others have said, the family is intelligent, fun and kind, and the dog is indeed cute. My only complaint is about the insidious, tenacious weeds in Australia (well some of them anyway...) :)

Celia is a very responsible teacher. She asked me a lot about the children's learning before arriving and prepared a lot of learning materials. Her class is very lively and interesting, my daughters like it very much. She is really a very serious teacher and she has helped our family a lot. I am grateful. Looking forward to the next reunion.

I spent 5 weeks in this beautiful part of the world, one week under Mel's supervision and 4 weeks house-sitting. The routine was very well organised and I received written instructions about the house-sitting. Celia was an excellent helper. She house-sat for us for a month. Although she admitted to not being the best of gardeners, she did a very good job, and quickly learned from her few mistakes. We would have loved her to stay longer so we could properly thank her and really show her the area, but we think she has 'itchy feet' Thanks again Celia.

I think that at first not knowing any Spanish was a handicap, but the passage of time this was not a problem. She also took classes in Spanish and is an outstanding student.
