  • Description

    Ciao,

My name is Aurielle, and I am moving to Italy to learn Italian before continuing my Architecture studies. I am looking for a meaningful cultural exchange where I can contribute, connect, and immerse myself in Italian life. As I am half Italian, developing my language skills and deepening my cultural roots is very important to me.

I grew up in New Zealand and began university at 16, later completing a diploma in Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Canterbury. I have always been driven, independent, and comfortable taking initiative. At 17, I travelled alone for six months, teaching English and Art in India. That experience strengthened my adaptability, confidence, and love of working with people from different backgrounds.

Music has been a central part of my life. I am a violinist and have completed Trinity London Music Examinations Level 7. I am qualified to teach violin up to Grade 5 and have led every school and private orchestra I have been part of. Teaching music brings me so much joy, especially watching children grow in confidence and discipline through learning an instrument. I would be very happy to teach your children violin, support their practice, or introduce them to music in a fun and structured way.

Alongside music, I have strong experience working with children in creative settings. I worked as an art teacher at Russley School and was the private director of an art charity project for the school. I organised and led creative initiatives, working closely with students to help them express themselves and build confidence. I genuinely love working with children. I find their curiosity, honesty, and imagination inspiring, and I take my responsibility as a role model seriously.

English tutoring is another area where I can contribute. As a native English speaker with teaching experience abroad, I am confident helping children improve their spoken English, pronunciation, and written skills in a natural and engaging way.

Outside of academics and teaching, I am active and adventurous. I love rock climbing, hiking mountains, swimming in almost any body of water, cooking with friends, and playing board games. I thrive in new environments and enjoy both lively family moments and quiet evenings.

The values that guide me are trust, respect, communication, and enthusiasm for growth. I am tidy, responsible, and mindful of shared spaces. I understand the importance of discretion and professionalism within a family home.

I am looking for a family who values culture, education, and meaningful exchange. In return for your hospitality, I would love to contribute through English support, violin lessons, creative projects, and being a positive, energetic presence in your home.

I am excited about building genuine connections and sharing daily life, stories, and laughter.

  • More details about your skills

I am an adaptable and confident individual, comfortable interacting with people of all ages.
I have a solid background in teaching, particularly in music and the arts. I am qualified to teach violin up to grade 5, having passed my grade 7 exam, and I also enjoy teaching conversational English and various art forms. Additionally, I have experience educating school groups about the practical and conceptual principles of flight and other scientific concepts.

My practical skills extend to the outdoors and hands-on projects. I am skilled in activities such as climbing, competitive swimming, lifeguarding (holding a Level 2 First Aid certificate), orienteering, and sailing. I am also proficient in driving both cars and tractors, chopping wood, and starting or building fires. My interest in horticulture has led me to participate in gardening clubs, and I have been involved in building projects, including constructing a long-drop wooden toilet on a local farm.

Volunteering and community involvement are important to me. I actively participate in local coastal restoration projects, where I help with rubbish collection, weed removal, and planting new tussock. At Habitat for Humanity, I assist in organizing and managing stock in the ReStore. I have also delivered public speeches at the North Canterbury Stroke Club, and am comfortable with my public speaking abilities. Engaging with my local community is a priority, and I am always ready to lend a hand wherever needed.

My educational background includes a Certificate of Arts from the University of Canterbury, where I studied Astronomy, Classical Literature, Mathematical Critical Thinking, and university-standard essay writing. As well as a graduation diploma from Avonside Girls High School.

In addition to my formal skills, I am capable in cooking and house maintenance, and I enjoy crafting activities such as knitting, crocheting, and sewing, all of which I can teach along with fire spinning and dancing too!

I take pride in my resilience and time management skills, which have been honed through various activities, including achieving the Duke of Edinburgh Award and participating in the Outward Bound course. I am ambitious and eager to learn, always ready to work hard and embrace new challenges.

Ultimately, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my adaptability and positive outlook. These qualities make learning new skills and gaining new abilities both fun and enjoyable. I love working with both people and animals, and I am confident that my skills and enthusiasm will make me a valuable asset to any host.
