Hi! My name is Austin, and I’m an architectural designer from Colorado, USA. This year, I have decided to quit my job and take some time to backpack around South and Central America. I am hoping to find new experiences that challenge me and enable me to grow as a person, while meeting many new people along the way!
In the past I have been to a handful of countries in Europe as well as Japan. There is so much out there to see and do in the world and I want to make the most of it. As I have been learning more and more Spanish I have grown more interested in the culture of Latin America. I am really excited to completely immerse myself into the language.
I am really fascinated by cities and I love to walk around to really get a sense of the place. When traveling I love to sketch and do photography, I have found these are great ways to explore and capture my adventure. I also love hiking and nature.

Yes, I would love to help with English practice and teaching. I am actively learning Spanish and can hold basic conversations, but I still have a lot to learn. I would love to help out in any way I can! I am always open to new tasks. If you are willing to teach me I would love to learn! I adapt really easily to new things and have a natural curiosity of the world.

People Skills: I have worked many customer facing jobs and I love talking with and meeting new people.

Event Planning: I am a really social person and I thrive on talking to people. In college I was a "Community Assistant" for my dorm and helped plan events to encourage interaction within our dorm community. I have also been involved with running events that teach kids about math and architecture.

Art and Graphic Design: I enjoy working on art projects both with physical mediums and digitally. I have done graphic design work for websites in the past.

Manual Labor and Eco Projects: I am comfortable with hands-on, manual labor and have experience working on hemp construction projects, including both physical building work and sustainability-focused research.

In my free time I really enjoy staying active. Activities like hiking, yoga, and longboarding are my favorite ways to stay moving. I also really enjoy art, whether that be sketching/photography or going to museums to see something new. Watching movies and following sports are some of my favorite ways to unwind. I am a huge baseball fan and love going to local sporting events whenever I travel. I am really excited to learn about your own hobbies and interests.
