👋 The Intro
Hey there! I'm Artin! I am a software engineer. After a few years working 9-6 (Taiwan-styled long hours—let’s just say there's a reason our chip industry is so efficient), I decided to trade my office job and my precious baby gaming PC for a solo adventure in The Great Southern Land. It will be the best decision I've ever made.
🔥 The Passions
I'd love to hear about your favorite food, TV shows, or music! (btw Byron Bay's on my must-see list—I’ve got to find out what gives Parcels their vibe!) In my free time, you will find me making tea, practicing archery, reading, or dreaming about my future motorcycle I'm saving up for.
🚀 The Motivations
A while back, I studied abroad for 4 months at a university in the mountains, and lived in a lovely seaside town in Kyushu, Japan. After that, I spent 6 years living in a city with over 9,000 people per km²—even more packed up than Sydney CBD! All the noise and crowds slowly drained me, so I made up my mind to fly somewhere with endless natural beauty, serenity, and majestic animals.
🌟 The Aspirations
I believe the best way to become a more capable, well-rounded person is by exploring new places and overcoming obstacles along the way. My ultimate goal is to be capable of looking after myself anywhere in the world—picking up practical skills like bushcraft, fishing, car maintenance, and more. But above all, I have a deep affection for animals, especially horses, which hold a special place in my heart. I am eager to understand these magnificent creatures and learn how to care for them with patience and respect from the ground up—whether that’s grooming, mucking out, or simply assisting.
🎉 The Outro
Thanks so much in advance for your kind hospitality and for being part of this journey with me. Our time together might be short, but I’ll carry the memories with me always. Really appreciate you taking the time to read my profile!Interests

More details about your skills
💻 Comfortable with tech - I worked as a web developer for 3 years and held other software experience and a bit of hardware know-how. I built my precious baby gaming PC. I can help with simple computer or device issues.
🛠️ Basic hands-on skills - In uni, I took courses in basic woodworking, simple CNC metalworking, and laser cutting. I am not a pro, but youtube videos helped me build and fix things. I am practical and good at following instructions.
🚗 Safe driver - I've driven automatic transmissions for 2 years, and am eligible to drive manuals as well. I hold overseas licenses equivalent to Class C, plus motorcycle licenses for engines up to 660cc. I love road trips and exploring the countryside on wheels.
🥘 Cooking - I don't cook very often, but I can handle the basics like pasta, steaks, and rice. I'm glad to assist with prepping or lend a hand in the kitchen however I can.
💂♂️ Reliable and responsible - I met deadlines and responded to urgent messages after hours. While serving as a handyman at a fire station, I learned the importance of double-checking, especially when safety is at stake!
😁 Quick learner - Being a programmer means diving into new tools and troubleshooting every day. I am used to constantly hunting for answers, and when I can't find one, I'm not shy about asking questions.
🌍 Languages - native Mandarin, fluent English, basic Japanese (a bit rusty), advanced Taiwanese Hokkien.Age
