Hello hellooooo helloooooo!
It's lovely to be connecting with you!
My name is Avery, and I've just graduated from univerity with a BFA in Theatre, and I am ready for my next adventure. Yes, it would probably be wise to, as my mom says "settle down and focus on my career" (thank you, mama, for caring about my financial well-being), but I believe there is so much more to life than just money and I want to enjoy our world and connect with people in as many ways as possible.
Im 22 and I don’t have everything figured out (and I don’t want to just yet), but I know I want to live a big, bold, joy-filled life. I want to keep creating, keep growing, and keep saying yes to the unknown. I want to work hard, travel far, dive deep, and give back wherever I go.
I just wrapped up my degree at the University of Victoria, where I spent four whirlwind years training as an actor, stage manager, scene shop carpenter, performer, and collaborator. Theatre is one of my biggest loves, it’s where I discovered how to turn curiosity into storytelling, chaos into creation, and connection into magic. I’m a big believer in the power of play, and I carry that energy into every space I enter, whether it's a rehearsal hall, a summer camp, or a mountaintop in the middle of nowhere.
When I’m not on stage or directing organized chaos as a camp counselor, I work as a care aide for neurodiverse individuals — a job that keeps me grounded, present, and deeply connected. I’ve worked with children and teens with a wide range of needs and abilities, and I absolutely love building trusting, playful, and supportive relationships that help each person feel safe, seen, and celebrated. It’s work that reminds me how powerful care, patience, and laughter can be.
Nature gives me life. I feel completely at home in the ocean — I swim with ease, surf whenever I can, and am a certified scuba diver. I love hiking, biking, camping, skiing, animals, getting muddy, and spending time surrounded by trees. I am confident working with my hands, using power tools, sewing machines, chopping wood, painting walls, doing home renovations, painting, and building stuff.
Gardening is a lifelong love — I built my first little “dream garden” when I was five with my elderly neighbours and dad, and that passion has only grown. These days, I keep a thriving windowsill garden in my apartment and help care for a shared backyard garden with close friends. My mom’s Family name is GARTNER, so I like to think having a green thumb runs in my blood.
I’m a huge animal lover, especially dogs, and am always happy to help care for pets with love and attention. I have lots of farmers in my family and am comfortable with horses, cows, chickens, and pigs. I lived on a farm in Austria when I was young, and have lived in Hawaii part-time my entire life. I’m responsible, tidy, and helpful around the house — whether it’s cleaning, cooking (I love to cook healthy food and bake), or organizing. Easygoing and adaptable, I fit in quickly and love contributing to a warm household.
Here are some rapid-fire facts about me that may be nice to know.

More details about your skills
I bring a wide range of practical, creative, and people-centered skills to the table. I’ve worked extensively as a care aide for neurodiverse children and teens, and have years of experience as a camp counselor — I'm confident, nurturing, and playful, especially when working with kids. I’m also skilled with tools and love hands-on work: I’ve built theatre sets, helped flip homes, and enjoy tasks like painting, gardening, organizing, and basic repairs. I’m a certified scuba diver, strong swimmer, and comfortable in the ocean or on outdoor adventures. I cook often (and love to bake), keep a tidy space, and am always eager to lend a hand in the kitchen or around the house. I have experience with animals, including dogs, horses, chickens, and farm life from time spent living on rural properties in Austria and Hawaii. Overall, I’m reliable, hardworking, quick to learn, and genuinely happy to help however I can.
