  • Description

I do enjoy having a busy life filled with varied activities. Mine and my family's vacations always involved a lot of hiking and camping. Just walking through nature, swimming in lakes, enjoying the views, reading a book while being in the sun, listening to the rain while sitting in a tent. So when I have the time, I like to get out of the city and involve myself in more physical activities. If I can help anyone while doing that, even better!

Being in cities I do also enjoy though. I love being able to experience different aspects of culture, could be museums, going out, experiencing the cuisine or dancing... I'm open to anything.

In the last two years I've been dancing quite a lot, mostly salsa and bachata, but a few other dance styles like afro or commercial as well.

I have already lived abroad for a few months in Ireland and for half a year in Spain and I love experiencing different cultures, learning new languages and meeting new people. My English and Spanish are fluent, but my Spanish still needs improvement and maybe getting back to learning French would be nice. While being in Brasil I'm also learning Portuguese so and help there would be greatly appreciated.

What I do love as well are animals, especially horses and dogs. Sadly my family doesn't own a pet and I had to stop riding because it just didn't fit in my schedule any more or there wasn't anything close, but if there is an opportunity to have them around, I would love to take it.

More details about my language interests
Since I'm German I would really enjoy helping anyone who wants to learn this language. I would say my English is pretty good too, so if anyone needs help there I could teach a bit as well. I had Spanish in school and now after living half a year in Spain, I would say I am fluent, but I would still love to improve it further and speak more with native speakers. French I had in school as well and sometimes if someone talks slowly ad clearly in French with me I can understand a bit, but speaking myself is a bit difficult. I've been travelling through Brasil for about two months now and I did learn a bit of Portuguese here. I am definitely getting better and I do already understand quite a bit (maybe also because of my Spanish), but I'm not fluent yet and I've never actually learned any grammar. And a bit of Italian or any Scandinavian language would be nice to learn as well, but I don't have any experience there so far.

  • More details about your skills

So far I have helped my dad a few times when it comes to putting together or reworking furniture, minor things in the house like putting up frames and wallpapers and painting basically anything. I as well helped in the garden cutting back bushes and trees and chopping wood.

I did go horseback riding for a few years, so I have basic experiences there, even though it wasn't really the typically "professional" type of riding school, a bit smaller and "natural" I would say... The horses there lived outside and we were riding bareback many times.

I would also say I am quite an artistic person, I really enjoy drawing and painting.

All in all I would just say I have no problem with any type of work, especially not physical and I think I pick up on how to do things quickly.

  • What else ...

As I already mentioned I enjoy drawing and painting, animals and hiking. Trying out new recipes is also nice.

I also really enjoy good company. Sitting together for hours talking about anything that comes to our minds. It could be about our experiences, differences in cultures, what's going on in the world... but it doesn't need to be deep talk, a funny story is all it takes ;)

When it comes to music and dancing I have played the flute for many years and tried to learn playing the guitar by myself, but it can be a bit difficult to stay consistent sometimes. I love singing and dancing, I have been dancing Salsa and Bachata for about two years, and music suggestions are always welcome.

If I'm not really in the mood to be around people I like to listen to music and podcasts or reading a good book or looking a bit into fashion or interior design.

What I am interested in and what I try to get more into for studying and maybe jobs later on is programming and webdesign.

I am not sure if all of this is that relevant, but I guess it's nice to get to know me a bit better :)
