Description
Hi I’m Andi! I'm from the United States but currently living in Costa Rica! I am so excited to begin my Workaway journey! I am happy and willing to work on any type of project!!
I enjoy gardening, working with kids, cooking, and working outside! In general, I love immersing myself in projects that are important and special to hosts! I have an eagerness to learn new skills and want to be of help wherever I can.
I am passionate about gaining new perspectives and expanding my mind through travel. In my view, there's no better way to achieve this than by engaging with new cultural experiences and getting fully involved in new and unique projects. I hope to participate in this during my Workaway travels!
I love the reciprocal nature of Workaway- the opportunity it provides for a genuine exchange of knowledge, culture, and experience. What excites me most is the chance to learn from hosts who generously share their knowledge and insights. Equally, I'm eager to contribute by sharing my own experiences and skills where they can be of value.
My goal is to not only explore the diversity the world has to offer but also to actively participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the communities I encounter! I am excited to collaborate with hosts and fellow Workawayers to create a vibrant exchange of culture, ideas, skills, and perspectives!!💫🌱🌈🌿☀️Interests

More details about your skills
✨I value cultural exchange and community engagement and I am excited to bring my skills to the Workaway community! I just graduated University in Sociology and Gender Studies. I’ve spent time working with an LGBTQ+ nonprofit and a community engagement team at my university as well as working as a receptionist and a program coordinator. I am learning to throw pottery and speak Spanish and I am constantly curious and excited to learn new things! I'm ready to explore and contribute to diverse projects and ideas within the Workaway community.
✨My parents and two of my younger siblings are currently living in Costa Rica so I’ve had the opportunity to spend several months there over the past couple years and connect with the beauty Costa Rica has to offer! I took 10 weeks of classes and have learned some beginner-level Spanish over this time. My parents are Workaway hosts for a sustainability project so I have interacted with Workaway volunteers through this process and found a love for the program.
✨For one semester during my university education, I was able to travel around the western United States to learn about environmentalism. Some highlights included learning about food sovereignty and water conservation, as well as hearing valuable Indigenous wisdom on many environmental subjects. I'm excited to bring my passion for activism and environmentalism to new projects!
✨I have worked as a program coordinator for a youth summer camp where I planned COVID-safe programming for campers and mentored counselors. This experience taught me how to work in a stressful environment and improved my organizational skills and adaptability.
✨I was an intern at an LGBTQ+ center for youth and young adults during my last year of university where I facilitated social support groups and ran a Queer book club. I have learned so much about intersectionality and the importance of community!
✨I have completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification where I gained formal experience teaching English and interacting with the local community in Costa Rica.Age
