Hi, we're Abbie and Noah, a couple from London who are planning to explore South East Asia at the end of this year. We are hoping to do some workaways on our trip as we love immersing ourselves in new cultures and building meaningful connections with the people we meet on our travels. For us, Workaway is not just about exchanging skills but about forming friendships, learning from locals, and contributing positively to the places we visit.
Between us, we possess quite a broad-ranging skill set, and want to put these towards helping our hosts in whatever way we can. Noah works in digital marketing and can write some truly brilliant copy, while Abbie's got a huge variety of teaching experience in both formal and informal settings, from schools, to museums to the streets of London!
We currently live in a shared house in London with 3 flatmates so are used to communal living and sharing household responsibilities. The space is shared and we love it that way. Living with others means you can create a great space that's full of fun. The top way we contribute is by regularly cooking up a storm in our kitchen so that we can share meals together as a house.
At the heart (or belly) of our relationship is a shared love for cooking and good food. We'd love the opportunity to help out with cooking and meal prep. But honestly, any opportunity to share meals and exchange dishes with our hosts sounds up our street. It's our favourite way of connecting and learning about people.
We both love to learn and try new things so are always happy to turn our hands to something new and unexpected and give it our absolute all. While volunteering to set up a music event in London recently we figured out how to erect scaffolding all by ourselves. The incredible canopy drapes and hanging decorations made it all worth it. We'll turn our hand to anything, basically!
Living and working alongside hosts is something that really appeals to us, as we thrive in friendly, social environments. Exploring new places, trying new foods, and sharing great conversation—these are the what we live for.
Every year (hopefully for the rest of our lives!), we volunteer at Glastonbury Festival on the recycling team. It’s a great way to give back and do something good for the planet. We’re both hands-on, adaptable, and always up for new experiences. Give us a hostel, café, a creative space, or an eco-project and we'll throw ourselves in headfirst.Languages

We both have backgrounds in digital marketing and content creation, with Noah possessing extensive experience in this. He works as a social creative executive and senior copywriter, specializing in writing, video production, social media strategy, email marketing, and website/blog management. If you run a business, guesthouse, or social enterprise, we’d be more than happy to help with online engagement, branding, and boosting your digital presence.
Abbie has extensive experience in museum education, creative workshops, and heritage engagement. She spends her workdays visiting historic sites with young people in London, and leading workshops and activities to inspire them through their local heritage. She can deliver an exceptional guided tour with interactive activities or deliver practical and arts-based sessions in sculpture, painting and even stonemasonry!
We’re both TEFL-certified and have experience teaching English as a second language, with Abbie also tutoring subjects like Latin, Maths, and History. Abbie's got over 500 hours of tutoring experience under her belt, both online and in-person, and managed her own tuition commpany during the pandemic to support young people falling behind in core subjects. She's also taught English abroad in China and completed a work placement there as a Senior Education Consultant. We're both passionate about working with and supporting young people and would love the opportunity to teach or help out in an education environment while we're travelling.
Abbie is also DBS checked and trained in safeguarding, first aid and mental health first aid.
Noah has worked extensively in hospitality, from restaurants to bar work, while Abbie has barista experience—so we’re comfortable in customer-facing roles and happy to lend a hand in cafés, bars, or hostels. We’re also both passionate cooks who love sharing good food with others. Our shakshuka, chocolate chilli cookies, chicken pie and lasagnes are especially famous amongst our friends and family.
Beyond this, we’re no strangers to hands-on, outdoor work. Every year, we volunteer at Glastonbury Festival as part of the recycling team, which has given us experience in waste management and environmental sustainability. We love giving back and doing something positive for the planet. With our mix of creativity, practicality, and enthusiasm, we’re always happy to get stuck in and help however we can!Age

What else ...
We love live music and go to lots of gigs in London, as well as Glastonbury Festival every year. We spend our weekends hiking and exploring the countryside around our city. Abbie's currently working towards hiking the entire Thames path from sea to source! We love games and quizzes and often do well at our local pub quiz - thanks in part to Noah's encylopedic knowledge of the flags of the world and Abbie's cryptic crossword skills.
