Description
Hi! I'm Yeon, 25 years old from South Korea. I'm currently taking a gap year before heading into my final year of university, using this time to travel and see more of the world.
I've just returned from a 2 month journey through Central Asia. It was my first time traveling for this long, and I fell in love with spending my days in nature, trying solo camping for the first time, and connecting with the unique cultures and people there. After a brief stop back home in South Korea, my next adventure is a trip through the America, starting in Canada and hopefully making my way down to South America.
Although I was born and raised in the bustling city of Seoul, I've always felt happiest and most at ease when I'm in nature and surrounded by animals. This is why during my travels, I'm more drawn to experiences like staying on a farm, hiking, and camping.
While I may not have extensive experience with physical outdoor work, I am a diligent and enthusiastic learner who is always ready to put in the effort. I've recently started learning pottery and have discovered a real passion for making things with my hands. I'm also very keen to learn skills like carpentry. To be honest, I just truly love learning anything new.
I want to meet new people and sharing meaningful conversations. I have a wide range of interests, from discussing our journeys and lives to topics like economics, philosophy, and history. I'm a curious listener and enjoy hearing different perspectives, so we can have a nice conversation.

More details about your skills
At university, I'm majoring in Philosophy and Economics for my bachelor's degree. Philosophy is my primary major and where my main interest lies, but I'm also passionate about history, politics, and international relations. I'm always open to talking about a wide range of topics.
Since becoming an adult, I have worked consistently in bars and restaurants. From these experiences, I learned the importance of friendliness, how to interact with different kinds of people, and the basics of cleaning and managing a space.
I also served in the Korean Army for a year and a half as a machine gunner in an air assault unit, and I was discharged as a sergeant about two years ago. In there, I experienced many different types of challenging tasks, which gave me a broad exposure to various kinds of outdoor physical labor. Of course, it also taught me patience, a hard-working attitude, and how to cope in difficult situations.
I am the type of person who works hard and always tries to learn new things well. I wouldn't say I'm an extremely energetic person, but I approach any given task with a positive attitude and try to do my best. I always strive to find joy in whatever I'm doing and to live my life while maintaining a sense of inner peace.
