Couple profile, but currently only Elsemieke travelling (Wouter is in the Netherlands for his job)- please read below.

Hi there!

We, Wouter (38) and Elsemieke (33), are two Dutchies. We are fit, hardworking and responsible people who are open-minded.

About two years ago we had our first workaway experience. We were travelling through Spain during our sabbaticals for half a year and wanted to get "our hands dirty" and meet people who know the land they live on. We worked at three farms and Elsemieke also helped with animal care.
We both worked/ work in the renewable energy sector and we care about the environment. At the same time, while working mainly behind laptops in this sector, we feel we get incerasingly disconnected from this very environment.

(2023) Now, Elsemieke quit her job in the renewable energy sector to move away from the screen and try how to contribute in a different way.

Originally I studied Forest and Nature Conservation in Wageningen (NL). Since I have a passion for nature and animals, I want to move back to what I'm trained for. In the past couple of months I have been working with a shepherd in the Dutch coast area and worked on several permaculture farms in Spain, Sweden and Italy. I am a very fanatic runner and participate in the Dutch National Championship Marathon and Dutch National Championship Trailrunning.
Next to that I really like to create stuff; I like to paint and create something new out of something old.

We can speak English quite well and are learning Spanish ourselves and a course in Spain (feb 2023). Learning and teaching by doing would be nice.
