  • Description

Hi! My name is Erin and I'm a student from England. I'm looking for a place to spend July, before I start my exchange programme at the University of Oslo!

A little bit about me: I grew up in High Wycombe, a town in-between Oxford and London which is known for its beautiful hills and blackberry bushes. After High School, I began studying Classical Literature and Civilisation at the University of Birmingham. I'm very passionate about ancient history, art and story-telling. In my free-time, I like to draw and write stories and fence epee.

I am someone who is always looking to grow and try new things outside of my comfort-zone. My current tenancy ends on the 30th of June, but my time at the University of Oslo doesn't start until August. I realise that this gap is an opportunity to live freely and try something new! I would particularly be interested in learning "hard" skills such as carpentry and maintenance.

I'm not a stranger to work. I currently have an internship in a museum, and two part-time jobs (one as an events assistant/receptionist and the other as an English mentor).

I love nature, protecting it, and enjoy any activity that gets me outside. Last summer, I hiked Ben Nevis with my sister.

More details about my language interests
Yes, I'd love to learn some Norwegian before I start term. I'm really hoping to get good at it since I'll be on exchange for a year. I also know a bit of Ancient Greek.

  • More details about your skills

    1. I am a great communicator -- no vagueness from me -- I can set boundaries and respect them when they come from other people. I've been told I speak quite bluntly, but in an honest way, not an insensitive way.

    2. I'm quite a happy and sociable person, so I enjoy story-telling and sharing anecdotes and making new friends.

    3. I know how to cook, bake and clean. My mum's French and I learned my recipe for crêpes from her. I also clean up after myself automatically, so you won't have to tell me.

    4. I like to garden in my free time -- mainly flowers -- but I'm always up for learning more about growing vegetables and fruits.

    5. I've got two cats but I used to have a dog and I've done lots of dog walking before in my neighborhood.

    6. I know how to pitch a tent and I've done sailing before (fusions and picos).

    7. I also love drawing and sketching in my free time.

    8. I'm also quite knowledgeable about Ancient Greece and Rome since that's what my degree is about! So if you're curious about the gladiators, feel free to ask.
