Description
My name is Viviane Drost, I am a 26 years old certified german vet and I am currently looking for a ranch to work at in British Columbia or Alberta for September/October. I grew up on a ranch with horses, cattle, chicks, cats, dogs... and have extensive hands-on experience, particularly with elderly, injured, and special-needs horses, including blind ones. I am very comfortable working confidently and calmly around horses. Their well-being is my highest priority. In addition to my equine experience, I bring many years of work in the service industry, including restaurants and bars, which has given me strong hospitality skills and a professional, friendly approach when interacting with guests. I am happy to support with cleaning and assisting during retreats. I am also comfortable with childcare. I am fluent in English and German, with basic knowledge of French and hold a valid Working Holiday visa for Canada.

More details about your skills
I grew up on a farm with horses, including working closely with blind horses and problematic ones.
I recently completed my veterinary studies and am now a licensed veterinarian in Germany. Beyond my medical training, I have extensive hands-on experience with horses: I have competed successfully in Western riding competitions, taught riding lessons for over five years, and have been training and schooling horses for the past three years.
I also worked with racing horses in Ireland and sick and injured horses in South Africa.
Since the age of 18, I have worked in the service industry in restaurants and bars, giving me strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients. I am fluent in English and German, with basic knowledge of French, which allows me to communicate effectively in multicultural environments.
I have participated in several trail rides and long-distance rides, so I am well accustomed to spending long hours in the saddle and handling the demands of working outdoors.
For your reference, I am including a YouTube link to a riding video in which I demonstrate my riding skills and, at the end, show how I saddle and bridle a horse: https://youtu.be/Fepirl5Dmeo -

First, I would like to mention the positive aspects. The working environment is very pleasant and everyone I worked with was extremely friendly, kind and understanding. The work itself can be physically demanding, but … read more
This family took me in after I had a terrible experience at another Workaway stay. I arrived here almost overnight, not knowing what to expect. And to be honest, I couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. I can’t put into words how wonderful my short time with this genuine family was. … read more
We were getting our RV ready for the Salmon Arm Fair, and Vivi tackled cleaning, helped us remove a very heavy RV sofa, and took on whatever else needed doing … read more
