My next destination:
Porto, Portugal - from Aug 2025 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
I have a project: a long series of animated short films, each one with a specific atmosphere and characters.
Basically I need experiences, do something I’ve never done, in order to cultivate original ideas for my stories; and so I must explore my abilities, the world, learn as much as I can about everything, meet new people, step out my comfort zone.
I’m currently studying multimedia arts in Venice, IUAV, it means that everything you do in there is a competition against time and people, in order to prove your the most creative e unique person in those classrooms.
Despite everything I like my University, but I need authentic time in quite places with authentic people, think about my characters and do what they do:
one of my favourite is a farmer, and so I’d prefer to work in a farm, figuring out what he passed through all those years (even if I’ve never worked the land and with animals, and I’m kind of afraid of them), but I’m doing everything.
And last but not least, I’d like to improve my English and learn other languages, the best thing possible would be Portuguese, only because next year I’ll be an exchange student there, and I want to be prepared.
I’ve never had any volunteer experience before , that would be the first.Languages
Languages spoken
Italian: Fluent
English: Intermediate
Spanish: BeginnerMore details about my language interests
I’m more interested in learning languages than teaching, I’d really love to learn Portuguese, French or even Moldovan and improve my Spanish too; the first one because next year I’ll live five months in Portugal, French because I love the sound of it, and Moldovan is the main language of many people I know and I want to understand them when they’re speaking. In any case I don’t refuse at all the idea of teaching some Italian or even English.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
Speaking of theoretical knowledge, I know a lot about art history (in particular contemporary art), aesthetics theories and the development of cinema and video-art.
In High school (two years ago) I studied social sciences (pedagogy, psychology, anthropology, sociology) developing my teaching skills and communication with children , and I reinforced it by working in an elementary school.
As self-taught skills I know how to draw, modelling, and animate in stop motion technique, use cameras and something about editing video and organise art expositions.
I haven’t actual practical skills, except having built a wooden bench when I was around fifteen, but I’m here to learn as fast as I can.Age

What else ...
I’ve got a nerdy soul, I like playing D&D, table top games, video games, even if I’m not a good at it.
I really love sports, in particular basketball, callisthenics, climbing and dancing, Latinos and Standards are my favourites, but I’d like to learn tip tap too.
I really love making some creative projects, for example, in this period, I’m recording a documentary about my current roommate and his particular way to approach life. Some more information

They were super friendly and supportive with every doubt I had (and I had many, since this was my first Workaway experience).
From the very first moment I met them, I was treated like part of the fam.
The main work they asked me to do wasn’t always easy, and for that reason they often… read more
