Hello, I am Matt.

In 2009 I quit University and went traveling. I spend about 8 years on the road experiencing life and contemplating what I actually wanted to do in the short time we have on this amazing planet.

During those 8 years I met many amazing people, saw wonderful places, hitchhiked a lot, spend many months hiking which became a big passion of mine, volunteered at places I happened to cross paths with, wwoofed at different projects, used sites like couchsurfing/bewelcome/trustroots, learned about designing a space with permaculture or spend time at a normal organic farm, repaired old houses, learned a lot about history (another passion of mine) and botany which I find very fascinating.

In 2017 I joined the rat race again and had a break from traveling, but now decided it is time to focus more on my dreams. One of which is traveling around a bit more and eventually finding a place to live in rural Scandinavia (feels like home to me). Also kindling my passion for acoustic music.

I the next few years I want to hike the length of Norway and grow some of my own food.

I love learning new things, meeting people or just spend time in the wilderness. I'm an honest person, quiet, calm, positive and trying to live in the present.

I have done many things over the years, but not perfected any skill.

- Spend quite some time learning about plants, working with trees, volunteering in nature parks, working in organic farms growing produce.

- Done some woodworking during my life, for example making simple items, making and fixing some furniture, helping to repair old wooden houses. (I mostly work with hand tools)

- Helped some families with taking care of their children (between 2 and 18).

- Can fix most things on a bicycle, computers/laptops, some other electronic equipment, do some basic wiring.

- Worked in hostels. B&B's and hotels. Things like reception, cleaning, helping customers.

- Spend a lot of time on the road and learning how to live with very little. So you learn how to think out of the box to solve many problems with simple things.

I love learning things about self sufficiently, how people used to live in ages past, spend time playing/making music, learn things about plants, play board games, being out and about.

I live a minimalist lifestyle and meditate. Don't smoke, don't drink or do drugs.
