Description

I'm Toby, a solo traveller from the south of England, currently on a long-term trip that will take me into Asia for the first time and who knows where else :)

I started travelling in early 2022 after deciding to leave my apartment in London, quit my career as a sports journalist and experience life outside the office and sport. In 2023, I travelled through Spain, Portugal and Morocco for almost seven months, stopping for two months in the Agadir region of Morocco volunteering at an animal shelter and a hostel in Taghazout.

I'm currently completing my TEFL certificate, training to teach English as a second language. Meanwhile, I sustain myself by teaching via an online platform.

I'm an easy-going, smiley person with good people skills. I like to challenge myself, take responsibility and work hard. I love music, the outdoors, cafe culture, language and meeting new people. My only aim while travelling is to continue growing, exploring and seeing where my curiosity takes me.

I'm a trained writer and training English teacher. I've volunteered in hostels before and worked in other customer service roles. I'm a smiley, friendly person and a fast learner. I love to work outdoors and have experience gardening. My first volunteering gig was at a stinky animal shelter in Morocco, which I stayed at for three weeks. So I don't mind getting my hands dirty!
