Hi! We're David & Tara. Two Canadians who met in Senegal, West Africa and have since travelled much of the world together. We're big on nature, and we love learning about new cultures and seeing how people live differently.
We describe ourselves more as "Jack (& Jill) of all Trades", rather than "Masters of One". Our work history is a kaleidoscope of experiences: from tending sheep on a farm in outback Australia, to working at Disney World, to harvesting avocados, caring for the elderly, working at a fish factory, in carpentry, working in humanitarian causes, adventure guiding and even as a flight attendant! We're endlessly curious about the inner workings of everything, and we thrive on hands-on learning to shape our own perspectives of the world.
Some people also know us as "Oui Are Travellers", from our travel blog of sorts, where we document about the places we've been in search of meaningful moments where we strive to bring people together and break down misconceptions. We've just passed 9 months on the road this time around, which has brought us throughout most of Southeast Asia, and now to the West coast of Canada .
In the fall of 2019, we ended up spending 2+ years abroad during Covid, beginning in Nepal/ India and Malaysia, before arriving in Tasmania Australia where we ended up staying and working for a year. We then spent a year driving around mainland Australia, living in our rooftop tent picking up work here and there.
After travelling far and wide, we realized we've barely explored our own backyard, in our home country of Canada. So, that's our next adventure on the horizon. Hailing from Ontario/Quebec, the Western side of Canada is largely uncharted territory for us, and we're itching to dive right in and soak up the experience, both in terms of work and play.
Having spent over eight months immersed in the hustle and bustle of Asia, we are now craving a different pace - a balance of hard work and the restorative calm of nature.
Our ultimate dream? Owning a cozy spot somewhere out in the woods—a dog hotel, a chill café, a quirky B&B, or maybe a cool community hangout. Whether it's in Canada or somewhere sunny in Central America, we're pumped to roll up our sleeves and learn the ropes.Interests

They are enthusiastic, friendly and conscientious helpers who made a big difference in our garden, mostly weeding and clearing.
We really appreciated having them stay and enjoyed their company and would be very happy to welcome them back anytime. They left our cabin very clean and tidy.

Prior to arriving they kept in touch daily to advise us what they were doing and when they expected to arrive.
They painted, they pulled down a fence and got the old posts out, something that would have taken 2 oldies, my hubby and I, me in my 70's and hubby in his 80's,… read more
