  • Description

I’m an adventurous and outdoorsy person who’s happiest when I’m out in nature. I love hiking, climbing, cycling, gardening, and anything that helps me get outside and exploring. This year I’ve been growing my own vegetables at home, which has been amazing and made me even more interested in learning about gardening and growing food.

I grew up in a village in the Pennines, which gave me a huge love for nature and the outdoors. It also made me curious about what nature looks like in other places. I enjoy discovering different trees, plants, animals, and landscapes when I travel.

Through Workaway, I’m excited to meet new people, improve my language skills, eat good food, and gain new skills, especially in gardening. I’m also keen to explore new places and spend more time in nature.

More details about my language interests
Since travelling to Madrid, Cuba, and Mexico in 2023, I have developed a strong interest in learning Spanish. My aim is to gain a deeper understanding of Spanish culture through the language, connect with more people to discover new experiences and build friendships, and strengthen my ability to learn new languages. Although I wouldn’t yet call myself a beginner, I can communicate in very basic ways, and I am keen to significantly improve these skills.

  • What else ...

In addition to what I’ve already mentioned, I recently worked in a feed shop, which gave me valuable knowledge about animal nutrition , what to feed different animals and how to care for them properly. Through this role, I gained hands on experience looking after a variety of animals including chickens, goats, sheep, geese, guinea fowl, dogs, and cats. This has really strengthened my confidence in working with animals and understanding their needs.

I love learning new skills, spending time outdoors, and I’m always eager to take on new challenges and experiences qualities I think would make me a helpful and positive addition to any Work Away project.
