  • Description

I was born and raised in Germany, spending most of my life in the countryside. I moved between two villages—neither of which would mean much to anyone who hasn’t lived there. You could say I’m from a place you’ve never heard of, and wouldn’t think much about. And yet, perhaps we share this in some way, and so maybe, we’re from a similar place after all—a landscape of scattered fields, furrows shaped by brooks, and woodlots merging into stretches of forest—quietly molded by both intention and neglect. It was a mostly peaceful existence, an invitation to daydream, to wander. This life fostered in me a deep appreciation for exploring—both the world around me and the one within.

As I write this, my journey has spanned 34 years. Depending on how you look at it, those years could seem as inconsequential as a passing breeze, or as rich and overwhelming as the infinite span of time itself. But forgive my indulgence in what might sound like overconfident flea-market poetry.

I have spent a significant part of my life in service to others—volunteering, working, and learning across different fields. For several years, I served as a paramedic and rescue swimmer, experiences that taught me the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and remaining calm under pressure. Whether it’s tending to an injury, navigating unpredictable situations, or simply offering a steady hand when needed, these roles have shaped me in ways I never expected. And while I can't guarantee you'll need a rescue swimmer where you are, I'm pretty good at staying afloat in more ways than one.

Beyond that, I’ve spent much of my time working with my hands—whether through carpentry, handiwork, or creating something from nothing. I enjoy working with wood, clay, and stone, shaping raw materials into something with both beauty and function. Pottery, in particular, has become a deep passion of mine. I own a pottery workshop, a space where I craft, experiment, and share the joy of shaping clay with others. There’s something grounding in molding a piece of clay into form, baptizing it in fire, and seeing it become something both useful and enduring. If our paths align, I’d be more than happy to contribute my skills to any creative endeavors.

Sculpting in stone and wood is another avenue of expression for me, a slow and deliberate process that requires both patience and intuition. Working with raw materials, coaxing out the form hidden within, has given me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the passage of time.

Music is another thread woven into my life. I sing in various styles, including Mongolian throat singing, and I’m always happy to share music in whatever way fits the moment—whether as a way to bring people together, to tell stories, or simply to create a mood. I don’t put my musical interests at the forefront, but they’re always present, shaping how I experience and interact with the world.

I also have a deep connection to food—not just as sustenance, but as a craft, a means of bringing people together, and a way to nourish both body and mind. Cooking is something I take great joy in, and I’m particularly passionate about healthy eating. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about nutrition and the impact of a well-balanced diet. Whether it’s preparing wholesome meals, experimenting with flavors, or sharing knowledge about food as medicine, I’m more than happy to bring this passion into any setting.

This appreciation for food goes hand in hand with my experience in farming and permaculture. I’ve worked on farms, learning firsthand about growing food sustainably, caring for the land, and understanding the cycles of nature. Working with soil, planting, harvesting—it’s something that has given me both knowledge and a deep respect for where our food comes from. Whether it’s helping in a garden, tending to animals, or getting my hands dirty in whatever way is needed, I’m more than happy to contribute.

My work has also led me to engage with young people in educational settings. Encouraging growth—whether physical, mental, or emotional—has always been at the forefront of what I do. My involvement in sports and physical activities has not only kept me active but also instilled in me a mindset of perseverance and continuous learning. I’m always eager to share this energy with others, whether it’s through teamwork, adventure, or just pushing boundaries together.

I suppose you could say I’ve dabbled in a little bit of everything—never quite settling on a single path but instead embracing the richness of many. This has given me a broad skill set, a willingness to adapt, and an eagerness to contribute in whatever way is needed.

So, am I more useful than a failed aeronaut and visionary? I’ll try to be as honest in this assessment as a merchant at a bazaar, offering up my mix of practical skills, creativity, and willingness to learn and adapt. Whether it's building something new, lending a hand where needed, cooking a good meal, or simply sharing stories over a meal, I’m here with an open mind and a ready spirit.

In all things, I try to see beauty and function as inseparable, and I work according to that formula—whether in an emergency, a creative endeavor, or the simple joys of daily life.
