  • Description

    Hi :)
My name is Kiki and I'm currently taking a gap year before starting university next fall. My goals for this year and for traveling are to soak up as many life experiences as possible (good and bad) and to have fun doing it. I have a lot of big decisions about my future ahead of me so I want to use this opportunity to not just learn about the world around me, but also learn about myself.
One thing about me, I love a good story. I've read countless books and watched plenty of movies, but what I really love is exchanging stories with people. Traveling gives me the opportunity to meet people with lives different to mine and stories I'd never encounter in my small mountain town in the US. If I ever meet you, I can't wait to hear yours!

  • More details about your skills

Have you ever heard the phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none"?
    - I've helped my dad renovate various properties, which have given me experience with demo, cleaning, painting, and more.
    - Past workaday experiences have taught me bits and pieces about gardening, such as harvesting potatoes, onions, carrots, and various flowers.
    - I'm a very creative person, so I love anything artistic! A few skills I've developed are crocheting, painting, sketching, and embroidery.
    - Over the past 3 years I've worked as a swim instructor for little kids, a lifeguard (I'm first aid and CPR certified), a library intern, a babysitter, at rafting company, at a non-profit organization, at a tea and spice store, and finally at a bakery/coffee shop. I usually had a least 2 jobs at the same time, sometimes 3. I love learning new skills and meeting new people!
    - I'm really great with kids! I also have a lot of experience with them, half of the jobs I listed above had elements of working with kids.
    - I have travel experience, my family traveled through Europe and South America in 2019. My sister and I traveled together in our live-in van for 3 months in summer/fall of 2025. However, this is my first time solo traveling. Super exciting!

  • What else ...

Don't worry about keeping me entertained 24/7! I love quiet times to curl up with a book and a cup of tea or going for a solo adventure, and while I love companionship, I don't need in constantly.
One thing about me, I'll try anything at least once! In school I tried wrestling, basketball, ski team, soccer, set crew, science Olympiad, and even band. I've tried to play the clarinet, the piano, and the guitar. I've tried eating eel, octopus, and guinea pig. I'll almost never say no to trying something new!
