Description
**Update 6th December 2025:
Hey there!! Attikus here—least that's what most o my friends call me, but Rod's okay too. Funny story behind that name, remind me to tell you about it if we ever meet! ;)
I'm nomad by nature, and have been traveling the world for nearly a decade now, traversing across the four hemispheres, with residency in two countries, outside my own. Sometimes I'm in a place for a few weeks, other times I'll be there for the better part of the year. In honesty, it all depends on how enchanting a place is...be it the people, the culture, or merely the lay of the land.
What started as an open-ended journey has now become more of a lifestyle—making friends the world over and finding myself part of families that were...and are, at times, a soft replacement to my own. I do not see wealth as monetary. I respect the value of things, but superficiality is of no interest to me. Richness, is rather, in my opinion, found in the experiences of life—in the beauty through observance, in the resources of the land, and in the growth through struggles that only we know. So I say, give me a life of adventure...of travel and danger, of excitement and people well met, and even if it be short, I will still prefer it over the safety of a home that never moves. I can be passionate at times, especially about the things I care about most.
I love nature, and prefer jobs that include some type of physical labor. I don't mind hard work at all, and was raised by a generation that is perhaps one of its last. I have a code of honor—of respect, humility, and principles. I believe everyone should be able to live as they see fit, so long as they respect another's way of living too, for we are all Natives of the Earth.
There is, I think, something to be said about being caught off guard by the unexpected—a kind act, a burst of laughter...the acute awareness of everything that is going on around you and within you, all at once. And yes, I am a whole-hearted believer in that we are all teachers and students of life, child and adult alike.
Essentially, I am a soul searcher, a traveler, a nomad unlike any other, or so I am repetitively told. I try to help where I can, as often as possible, and I think that we're all just trying to do the best we can.

More details about your skills
I’m a roofer/carpenter by trade and a good all-around handyman. I’ve worked in very fast-paced environments, hostels, and B&Bs, but especially loved my time working on a stud farm in Ireland, often into the sunset. I was a carny for a period, worked in telecommunications, and funded most of my travel these past years as an ESL teacher. I have some mechanical knowledge and can do basic electrical/wiring, and I have worked on permaculture farms in the tropics. I’ve been a bartender and a martial arts instructor, though not in the same place, of course. However, there was that one time in Belize lol and can work a chainsaw and nunchaku equally well! XD

What else ...
I'm an INFJ, if you're into that sort of thing.
I enjoy sharing stories and telling tales—old and new, fables and myths—the sort of things that make people laugh and sometimes things which leave them aghast, pondering if it was real or just made up.
I'm an honest person who loves to laugh and someone who doesn’t believe in stepping on the back of others just to get ahead. I would prefer instead to climb the mountain together, rather than racing to its top.
I like to read and often write. I enjoy moments of solitude and meditation, and have recently started to get back into sketching/drawing. That said, I also need a good social atmosphere with friends and like-minded people just as much! I love playing board games and computer games, though hiking and outdoor sports—rock climbing, cycling, caving, kayaking, cliff diving are my favorite. Tbh, there’s little that I don’t enjoy, and nothing quite like having a pint or cup o tea at the end of the day to get to know people a little bit better.
Perhaps what I love more than anything though, is the deep existential conversations you have with someone, sometimes complete strangers, in the most unfiltered and unbiased way that allows you to see that inquisitive depth in a person that has now become such a rare thing.
Also, I have been getting into quantum physics and particle entanglement lately, purely out of personal interest, but find it super interesting!!
