If you are reading our profile it is because we have shown interest in collaborating with you or you have shown interest in collaborating with us, or you simply want to meet more travelers.

We are a couple from Mexico (Allan, 36 yo) and Serbia (Sloba 34 yo). We met when Allan went on a backpacking trip to Serbia, at that time Sloba was working as a Financial budget planner at the Ministry of Transport in Belgrade, Serbia.
Allan was a backpacker at the time, he had been a monk in the Netherlands and had also worked in the tourism sector in that country for a while before starting his backpacking trip through Europe.

Allan and Sloba decided to start a long distance relationship for a while, while Allan continued traveling through the Balkans. After 5 months, Sloba decided to join Allan and quit his job, certainly a very brave decision.

Together, we have been traveling through Europe for a little over a year. It has been a time of reflection, self-discovery and personal growth. We have also been able to meet wonderful people, develop new skills and discover more talents and passions that allow us to focus on our personal and professional ambitions.

For the moment we continue to travel, work seasonally and visit wonderful places around Europe, although we hope, in the not too distant future, to be able to settle somewhere and travel only for short periods.

We believe in the power of synergy, love and resilience while we have fun. Respect, empathy and responsibility are also part of our values.

The main reason we started doing Workaway was to be inspired to make a career change.
More than a year after starting this journey together we have discovered new passions, talents and skills.

Sloba:
Slobodan studied Accounting and Auditing in Belgrade, Serbia and worked as a financial budget planner at the Ministry of Transport of Serbia, in Belgrade. However, it was not his passion.
Through various experiences on Workaway he discovered that his passion is cooking, especially baking and pastry. He always made cakes and dishes for his family and friends on their birthdays and important days, he enjoyed the process and his family and friends loved it. The best thing is that he has a talent for it. He would like to continue developing his skills as a cook, he is super creative and is always looking for new recipes and new creations that allow him to learn. Possibly, in the future, he would like to open a restaurant or bakery.

Allan:
Allan was studying International Business in Mexico City when, at the age of 20, he decided to enter a Monastery in Michoacán, Mexico and leave his studies. He stayed there for almost 9 years, where he studied philosophy, learned to cook for the guest-house and later managed the various businesses that the monastery had such as the bread factory, the cheese factory and a jam factory, he was developing the knowledge of administration within monastic life.
He undertook some self-sustaining projects for large-scale crops within the monastery itself.
He made a documentary about monastic life for Spanish television.
In 2018, after two years of discernment, he decided to leave monastic life because he considered that his life plans had changed, including the possibility of an emotional partner.
He worked for 1 year in a tourist resort in the Mexican Caribbean as a bartender and waiter and after watching a documentary on Youtube about monastic life in the Netherlands, he decided to go on a 1-year trial in a Monastery in the Netherlands.

During that year, in the monastery, he was able to work with a life and professional coach about his life goals and future projects and decided to definitively close the monastic path. Allan recorded a documentary on Dutch television about his monastic life process and his private life.
Later he worked for 1 year as a manager of a guest house-cafeteria in Deventer, Netherlands.

Finally he decided that he needed some time to realize his life projects and delve deeper into his passions and talents, so he started backpacking and it was at that moment that he met Slobodan with whom he now travels and shares his life.

Currently Allan is studying an online "Project management" course to enhance his skills in that area and be able to practice that profession in the tourism sector and customer service.

Nowadays we are open to long-term collaborations, we can also consider a job contract and settle down in the place that fulfill our personal and professional goals.

  No diet requierments but we try to eat balance with some meat from time to time. We can adjust to vegetarian diets for a while. Vegan diet its mor hard for us as we do like dairy products.
