Activities i am interested in:
Interested in open minded people who want to share and explore together! I'm someone who likes to wander streets slowly and aimlessly. I love art museums, hiking, and making adventurous food choices.
My next destination:
Australia - from Mar 2024 until Oct 2024 View allDescription
Hello!
I’m traveling to Australia in early March 2024 and will eventually be spending a semester abroad at the University of Tasmania studying Environmental Science and Sustainability. My semester doesn’t start until late July 2024, and I’m excited to spend my months in-between now and then exploring, learning, connecting, and fully embracing whatever Aussie life brings me!
Ideally I am looking for a host that I can get to know and learn from, whether it be about farming, or culture, or language, or just other general things. And of course I want to share my knowledge, experience, and helping hands as well! My previous volunteer experiences include a few permaculture farms, a free-range pig farm, a surf school, and child care (most are from WWOOF and don’t appear here).
Personality-wise I’m open, laid-back, and a little goofy. Reader of books, forager of mushrooms, passionate about sustainability, usually early to rise and early to bed. I like a good balance of socializing and alone time. I loooooove working with my hands and spending time outside! LOVE ANIMALS (lots of my pics include my family dog). I also love working with kids and have spent many years working in youth group homes. I’m creative and silly, but am also very hardworking and do well with being left to a task.
I don’t want to write a whole novel here, feel free to message me with any questions!Interests

I've worked on a few farms, including a WWOOF experience on New Zealand's largest free-range pig farm. I've worked for the Forest Service doing some horse packing, irrigation work, harvesting hay, and trail maintenance. I know how to run chainsaws, drive manual transmission vehicles, and I know some general horsemanship.
I've worked as a white water raft guide and have experience leading tours.
I've been a prep cook and a line cook in a few different restaurants and know my way around a kitchen.
I've worked in children's homes and a children's science museum and love spending time around kids.
I grew up around all sorts of animals and have experience caring for chinchillas, horses, and everything in between.
I'm a fairly good sewer, a mediocre guitar player, and, if you catch me on a good day, a pretty good artist.Age

What else ...
Passionate about good food, good conversation, crafting, rock climbing, hiking, sustainability, living presently, and spiritual growth. I would love the chance to learn more about yoga, permaculture, and DIY projects of any sort.
