Hi!
My name is Serena, I'm an adventurous and determined person who loves new experiences! I like being outdoors, as I grew up in the countryside and it is where I often do sports such as running and long-distance walking. I care about animals and have been vegan for 5 years.
My work experience includes catering in cafes, house clearing, childminding, dog-sitting and gardening.
I am keen to visit Spain as I am studying Spanish and Linguistics at Oxford University, so it would be great to get more practice speaking the language and appreciating the culture. I have done two Spanish exchanges before, one when I was 15 and the other when I was 17, so I am used to staying with new people in a foreign country by myself.

I am studying a Spanish and Linguistics Degree at University. I have arranged two exchange visits to Spain to practise the language, and am interested in Spanish culture. My family in England has hosted 6 Spanish students, so I am very used to helping people learn English.

My native language is English, which I am happy to teach and I speak Intermediate Spanish.
I mentioned the work experience I have in my profile.
This variety of employment has given me a number of skills. I can work on my own and in a team, I am enthusiastic and motivated. I am keen to improve my skillset, I am a fast learner and good at communication.
My practical experience involves many years of food preparation (including a GCSE certificate), woodworking with my Grandad who is a professional furniture maker and camping skills, such as lighting a fire and erecting tents. As well as this, I helped my dad build a cobb oven and my family started an off-grid smallholding. I also have done a large amount of animal care as I have had several pets (guinea pigs, rabbits and cats).
I have volunteered at many museums, including Stonehenge where I was a tour guide and presented talks to groups of adults and children.

My hobbies include spending time with friends, playing sports such as football, paddleboarding, yoga and running. I am also interested in history and archaeology.
