Hello, my name is Sayaka from Japan.

I came to Ireland April 2023 and lived in Sligo and Donegal and worked as a babysitter and helper for vegetable field and B&B.

I love music, children, nature and animals.

In the past, I have studied abroad to Thailand for 6 months and interned at the Center which supports for organic farm and traditional culture. And I also have volunteered with Cambodian children to teach music. And I have traveled to Austria, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.

It’s so fun for me to learn new things especially different cultures, so I can’t stop taking an adventure and I applied for Working Holiday visa in Ireland for a year from April 2023.

Through Workaway, I would love to try to do various things and interact with local peoples to share my experiences and variety of music with kids in the future.

I will do my best for supporting you and I would be happy to work in a nice place.

My skills are mainly based around education.
Holds a bachelor of International Studies and junior high teacher’s license in English.

〜Work Experience〜

-Nature school instructor(4 years)
・Encouraged especially elementary and junior high school students through various activities.
(For example,hiking, camping, farming at vegetable and rice fields etc.)
・Play music with children and create a musical play such as being piano and ukulele accompanist and playing traditional Japanese music

-Travel coordinator(about 2 years)
・Collaborated with locals and teachers to create some programs.
(For example, it’s related to agriculture, forestry, plant dying, Japanese Urushi culture etc.)
•Arranged accommodations, restaurants and some special experiences for school trips, international students, individual travelers etc.

-Early Childhood assistant(2months)
・Applied play-based strategies including Japanese traditional play and picture-story show with piano.

What else ...

I play some instruments such as piano, flute, ukulele and Japanese traditional instruments (Shamisen, Japanese bamboo flute and Taiko),so I would like to enjoy music with local peoples and learn about Irish music too.

And I just started to play the tin whistle after coming to Ireland.
