Dear lovely community,

I am an outdoor enthusiast and inquisitive spirit, looking to absorb new knowledge and take on any new challenge granted to me. As a friend of the essential, my dream is to live a slower, more sustainable life, in harmony with natural cycles and systems.

I have been taking care of myself and now feel a huge desire to collaborate on something meaningful for the common good. I want to expand my understanding of the world and immerse myself in practical experiences that promote a deeper connection with the environment.

I find it very interesting to see others perspective and I value having intentional relationships. I love learning about the world through others. I have already completed 5 volunteer experiences in Greece, Guatemala, Brazil, Norway and Sardegna.

Throughout these journeys, I had the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, including agroforestry and permaculture workshops, environmental education, bioconstruction, holistic therapies, group meditation, and mindful eating practices.

These experiences have been truly transformative and have enhanced my desire to contribute to projects that resonate with my values. Each of these experiences has also helped me develop greater adaptability, openness, and a genuine willingness to contribute positively wherever I go.

I don’t want to go through life without purpose or meaningful experiences. I would therefore be truly grateful for the opportunity to help, learn, and be part of the adventure 🌜🌛

I have a master's degree in tourism and hospitality management. Next year, I intend to begin a training course to become a massage therapist. In the long run, I would like to specialize in Reiki. I spent nearly two weeks on a farm in Guatemala where the mission is to build a working model for a regenerative community homestead and natural reserve park. This has strengthened my interest in permaculture and bioconstruction.

I want to thank Gin and Johan from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful time I spent with them. Their home are among the places where I have felt the happiest. I cherished every second spent with them.

Gin & Johan are wonderful hosts: thoughtful, great to talk to and always make sure we have everything we need. They are also so much fun to be around and have plenty of crazy stories to share (like Gin walking for hours with one shoe missing! 😆). Despite having so much going on, they always make themselves available to us. They take the time to check in with us, see how we are doing and find out what could be improved. It really felt good to be in such a healthy and welcoming environment, surrounded by people who are so caring and attentive to everyone's needs.

Their project is really cool and creative, and Gin & Johan’s genuine enthusiasm and dedication made this time lively and joyful. They are truly engaged in explaining things and passing on their knowledge - about plants, nutrition, education, sustainability, sociology, spirituality and more - I left with so much new knowledge and plenty to reflect on. The tasks were varied and enjoyable: watering the plants, taking care of the garden beds and preparing them for new crops, cooking with fresh, wholesome ingredients, and even doing some woodworking to help build a pergola for their beautiful outdoor kitchen. There is so much to do, and yet there is also plenty of time to yourself, to connect with one another and to rest. I absolutely loved this slower pace of life and the feeling of living in tune with the rhythm of the Earth. Every morning, I was genuinely excited to get up and discover what the day had in store for us 🍀

Their children, Namid and Nael, are absolutely adorable and feel very comfortable around the volunteers. I am going to miss them. It was such a joy to play with them and learn alongside them. They speak three languages fluently 🤣 It's amazing how bright, quick-witted and full of ideas they are! These two little humans are truly amazing, and their cousin Nuri too. I am missing them already. Francesca, Gin’s sister is lovely and we also had the pleasure of welcoming some of their family members who came to visit. Everyone was very nice and warm.

The food was simply to die for! Every day, we had fresh eggs, vegetables and fruits from the garden or brought back from the market. And those homegrown eggplants…🤤 The room I stayed in was spacious and cosy, and stepping outside meant being greeted by the most gorgeous ochre-coloured mountains. There is even an outdoor shower with hot water! It truly feels like a luxury to live in such a beautiful environment, eat so well, have time for yourself and enjoy the peacefulness and silence around you.

Of course, sunsets at the beach nearby are always stunning, but at their place, even the simplest moments of everyday life become magical. I will always remember that barbecue around the fire, when Gin captivated us all with her incredible and enchanting voice... It was such a special moment, all of us gathered together around the fire, under the stars, celebrating life.

A huge thank you to Gin and Johan for welcoming me, helping me grow and sharing their world with me, which I find truly inspiring. I left with my head full of ideas and a renewed sense of direction for my future. I honestly couldn't have dreamed of a better volunteering experience, especially at such a turning point in my life. I feel extra grateful and recharged. This place is a hidden gem that I wish everyone could experience at least once in their lives.

I already miss them all, but I know this won't be my last time there. I would love to come back and volunteer with them again. Gin, Johan, Namid and Nael, I wish you all the very best for everything that lies ahead. Thank you for everything and for making this experience so unforgettable.
