Description
Hello!
I'm Saku, a 28-year-old man from Finland. I'm a veterinarian by trade since my graduation in 2023. Japan has been a life-long passion and I'm excited to finally have the opportunity to live there on a working holiday visa from April 2026.
This is my 5th time in Japan and I have a fairly good grasp of the culture.
With work I'm reliable, interested in new things and take care to do my work with great care. I have an international driver's license and I have experience driving in all seasons.
I'm particularly interested in opportunities to get immersed in the local community and the language.
Personally I'm easy-going, active and quite into different kinds of gadgets, most recently FPV-drones. I have done some martial arts like Kendo in the past, and I like skiing and going to the gym. I can play the piano some and I enjoy drawing, despite not being particularly good at it. I love animals and am particularly into cats.
For me the most memorable parts of traveling tend to be the shared experiences I have with people, cultural or otherwise. I'm excited to have the chance to contribute to something good while making those memories and connections. -

While I'm not a native English speaker, I am proficient at it and comfortable using it. I did my whole 6-year university degree in English. And of course if someone wants to learn Finnish, I'm happy to help. I've studied Japanese for a pretty long time now - on and off since around 2014. My level is more or less conversational, about N3-N2 level. I'm really excited to get to use Japanese more on a daily basis! -

Through working at my family's farm, I believe I have quite a good hands-on approach to things. I've gotten to do a variety of things from forestry (planting trees, taking care of the saplings etc.) to operating light to heavy machinery, working with animals and taking care of the premises, as well as helping out at the garden. I'm detail-oriented and conscientious, and interested in learning new skills.
I have customer service experience from working at veterinary clinics. -
