Hello! I’m Ryota, a traveller from Japan, currently based in London.

About Me
I’m curious, outgoing, and love connecting with people – from sharing a joke to deeper conversations. I’m not religious but respect all beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds. If I’m welcomed into your home, I’ll do my best to contribute in every way I can.

I’m proactive and often take the lead, so I naturally find ways to help. I promise to be a Workawayer you can rely on.

Language Skills
I’m studying English in London at an intermediate level – everyday conversations are fine, though complex topics can be challenging. I’m improving quickly and aim to be more fluent by the time I arrive. I’m a native Japanese speaker and happy to offer language exchange, even through anime if you like! I also enjoy learning local greetings and phrases.

Why Workaway
I joined Workaway this year because I wanted more than just to travel – I wanted to live alongside local people, share daily life, and see the world from different perspectives. Before starting a job in Japan next year, I hope to experience many ways of living and learn from the values and stories of others. I’m especially drawn to families in Southern Europe or Scandinavia, or to intentional communities where people work towards a shared goal.
