  • Description

Hi there! I'm Kjeld, 29 years old, I'm a software developer and quite new to workaway!

After hearing about some amazing experiences and it being recommended to me, I wished I had found this sooner! Since last year I have been hit by the feeling of wanting to travel more, get to know different cultures and generally see more of the world and what better way to do it than through here!

I will throw in some random what-I-likes in here to start off! So one thing I like is the sound of seagulls, it's strange but it always reminds me of home and that the sea is (somewhat) close by. Another thing I weirdly appreciate are very distant red lights at night (antenna towers etc.). Other than that I am quite at home in nature, I love exploring and will always travel for nature & culture instead of city life.

Oh and dogs! I am very much a dog person but I honestly get along with all animals.

Now onto some things I want to achieve! I feel like I have yet to find the thing that will really motivates me to the core, so I want to see what's out there and get to know more people and build experiences with them. I am very interested in getting better at DIY's and permaculture to build towards my own future.

  • More details about your skills

I am uncertain as to what can be described as a skill, but I am also not sure what to write down as a lot of the things have yet to be tested recently (shamefully been behind the screen for way too long, hence why I am here ;))

I grew up around animals (chickens, goats, sheep, dogs 'n cats), and have also tended to them, I am sure with a quick refresher I am right up to speed with any animal tending. I also had a family dog who passed away last year.

I have hammered some nails into planks before and done some basic DIY's so I am sure I can be of assistance if required, I don't shy away easy so if I can learn something new from it I am down for it.
Additionally know my way around the saw and some power tools.

I can swim, drive, walk, crawl, cycle and fly for roughly the duration that it takes for me to hit the ground, but those are very basic and the last one preferably not tested.

If there is something specific required, don't be afraid to ask, it may just be left out.
But mainly, if I don't know the skill yet, I am eager to try and learn!

  • What else ...

I love boardgames! You can 100% count me in for an all-nighter to finish a game of Catan of Risk (I have many stay up till 7 am sessions under my belt). But I am also happy to learn new (card) games!

Art wise, I just like to doodle now and then, tried my hand at water colors and still need to start with acrylics. In the digital art department I very much like pixelart, but a friend has made me aware about the art of "compositing" which is something I want to try my hand at.

Other than that I genuinely just like to go for a walk, randomly blast some tunes through a harmonica (which I am not that great at), and play some tunes of the guitar.
Ultimately all the music I enjoy leads back to blues / folk :)
