Hi! My name is Rik, I’m 26 years old and I recently graduated as a mechanical engineer. After finishing my studies, I decided to travel to Indonesia to explore the country where my family roots come from. My grandfather was born in Tasikmalaya, and visiting this region and learning more about the culture is something that means a lot to me.
I’m a hands on and practical person who enjoys technical work, building, fixing things, and generally staying busy with projects. I studied entirely in English, so I’m fluent, and I’m a very social and open person who enjoys meeting new people and sharing experiences.
In my free time I love being in nature, hiking and exploring new places. I’m also passionate about cooking, especially French and Asian cuisine. One of the things I’m most excited about in Indonesia is learning more about the local food culture, since my grandfather didn’t bring many Indonesian cooking traditions with him.

I’m a hands on person with a background in mechanical engineering and enjoy building, fixing, and working on practical projects. I’m comfortable using tools and solving technical problems, and I’ve repaired and maintained my own motorcycle. For the past two years I’ve also worked as an inline skating teacher for children, which has given me experience working with kids and leading activities. I also enjoy cooking, especially French and Asian cuisine, and I’m always happy to help in the kitchen or learn new recipes. I’m fluent in English and Dutch and speak a bit of Spanish.
