Hello! My Name is Reuben. I am from the U.S. -- specifically, Southern California.

I study Philosophy and Christian Theology at Biola University. After college I am hoping to pursue Graduate studies and would love to teach at a high school or collegiate level. Whatever I end up doing I will be a lifelong reader and learner!

In my free time I love hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, etc. I also love meeting new people, trying new food and exploring new places.

At the moment, I am especially interested in spending time in a German speaking country. I have started studying German (to aid my philosophy studies) and would love to improve via exposure.

I have professional painting experience, as well as some general trade experience (especially carpentry). I have also done gardening. I am happy to work hard however I can help!

I have studied German in a classroom for the past few years. My German is beginner or intermediate at best. But I would love to become fluent. I plan on working aggressively on my German during my stay. One of the main reasons I want to stay in Germany is language immersion.
