Hello! My name is Laurel and I'm a traveller with a passion for making new connections. I'm a recent returned Peace Corps volunteer who spent a year working with students in rural Thailand. I have basic Thai proficiency, and absolutely love learning new languages. I'm extroverted, open minded, and incredibly flexible. I have spent 3 months working on farms in east Maui, Hawaii, and have no problem with a job that requires some physical labor. I consider myself a moderately seasoned traveler, with an easy going attitude and diligent work ethic. I have no problems with "roughing it" and just ask for mutual respect and open communication. I'm up for just about any project, with experience in childcare, farm work, social media, and hosting. I pride myself in making others feel comfortable, safe, and accepted.

I have intermediate proficiency in both speaking and comprehending Thai, and would be able to teach basic Thai, perfect for someone interested in traveling to or living in Thailand as a foreigner. I'm a recent returned Peace Corps volunteer who spent a year working in Youth Development in rural Thailand. I have experience living with a host family and engaging in language and cultural exchange. In 2023 I spent three months living and working on a farm in East Maui, Hawaii which involved foraging for Pohole, a native Hawaiian fern, as well as caring for fruit trees, chickens, and preparing snacks and juices for the local farmers market. I'm incredibly outgoing, and love to host, making people feel comfortable and accepted. I have a passion for community, social justice, and exploring the outdoors. I'm well versed in social media, and pride myself in having an eye for photography.

I'm super active, and love to get outside. I'm an avid mountain biker, skier, and runner. I have beginner skate boarding skills, and I'm always down to pick up a new sport. I love being on the water, and I'm really interested in improving in surfing, and wind sports.
