  • Description

My name is Olivia, I'm an 18-year-old girl from Genoa, Italy and I have just finsihed High School in a Technical Agricultural Institute. I come from a beautiful mix of cultures, thanks to my Italian father and English mother.
I'm a serious, reliable and naturally sporty person. I love to roll up my sleeves, get to work and continuously learn new things. I'm currently finalizing my plans for AUGUST 2026 and am looking for a rewarding Workaway experience for the FIRST TWO WEEKS of the month to step out of my comfort zone, experience the city independently and immerse myself in the culture!

My background is an eclectic mix of technical training, hands-on professional experience and personal discipline. Academically, my five years of study at a Technical Agricultural Institute have provided me with an extensive, scientific understanding of plants, nature and environmental care, a passion further enriched by a formative work placement in an architecture and design studio in Genoa.
This academic focus is complemented by a strong work ethic forged in high-pressure environments; completing my contract as a waitress at the end of July has allowed me to develop rapid problem-solving, exceptional time management and a highly dynamic, physically fit approach to daily routines. Furthermore, I bring a deeply disciplined mindset as an athlete, playing sports at a highly competitive level, a commitment that has instilled in me resilience, focus and a strong sense of responsibility.
On a personal level, I'm dedicated to safety and continuous learning, which is why I've recently qualified as a First Aid course rescuer. My technical and physical skills are balanced by a strong creative side; I have been studying piano for four years and regularly express my artistic eye through woodwork painting and crafting handmade cards—a delicate artistic tradition I proudly inherited from my English grandmother!

  • What else ...

I am very flexible and eager to bring a ray of Italian sunshine into your household or project by helping with childcare, acting as a reliable "big sister" figure, entertaining your children with games, sports and creative activities, or helping them with homework.
I can also support you with gardening and nature projects, helping you maintain your garden, taking care of indoor/outdoor plants, or assisting in agricultural/green projects using my technical background.
When it comes to housekeeping and cooking, I'm happy to help out with light, everyday household chores and routines; I absolutely adore cooking, I can prepare authentic Italian recipes and I have no problem adapting to vegetarian or specific dietary needs.
Beyond the main help I can offer, I'm a huge fan of classic board games and card games like Monopoly, Scrabble, or Uno, which I find are an amazing and screen-free way to bond with kids and families in the evenings. Having grown up between the sea and the mountains in Liguria, I also have a deep passion for hiking, photography and documenting nature. I'm always happy to share these outdoor hobbies or teach some fun Italian idioms and gestures over dinner! On a practical note, please keep in mind that I do not hold a driving license yet, but I'm very organized and fully independent when using public transport!
