Description
I have travelled extensively all over the world and what excites and motivates me is meeting new people, immersing myself in their cultures and using the skills and experiences I have acquired to help, inspire and motivate others.
I worked as a Tour Leader with Intrepid Travel escorting small groups of travellers on holiday in Western Europe and South-East Asia, specifically France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam, for 2-4 weeks. Part of the company ethos was to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences and support First Nations and Indigenous communities around the world, while striving to give back locally.
I spent a year setting up and managing an Eco-friendly Camp in the Borneo rainforest employing local labour and sustainable materials, while engaging community and regional support for the project. I worked with other local communities, NGO’s, charities and international schools to help fund and renovate schools in underprivileged areas and also led private parties and school students on jungle expeditions for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to help fund this work.
I have a TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and spent time teaching English and Sports to children aged 5-12 in class sizes ranging from 9 to 34 pupils in Cambodia. I also have a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. To be able to to teach TEFL and for the work I do now I have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) search conducted, which enables me to work with children and vulnerable adults
These are the things I enjoy, that motivate me and would like to continue doing.Interests
