Description
Currently based in Barcelona but I grew up in the Polish countryside, where animals and nature were woven into the rhythm of daily life. Though I now live in a big city, there's a deep, heartfelt longing in me to stay close to nature and spend time outdoors.

Living in the city has its perks, but I often find myself craving more green spaces and opportunities to get my hands in the soil. I’ve been trying to practice gardening in every way my limited space allows. Even though my current flat only fits a lush collection of houseplants, I take great pride in keeping them happy and thriving! I’ll rarely miss the chance to plant a sunflower or a snapdragon, they bring so much joy!
Whenever an opportunity comes, I head out for hikes or city breaks. Being surrounded by forests, mountains, or wide open spaces always brings me joy and comfort. No better way to recharge!

I’m curious, hardworking, and eager to learn new skills while contributing wherever I can. Whether it's planting, weeding, helping with animals, cleaning, helping with maintenance or sharing a good conversation over tea or a smoothie, I’m excited to connect with hosts who share a love for nature and community.

I’ve gathered a range of work experience—from working as a secretary at a private language school to serving as a waitress in a cozy coffee shop in Amsterdam. I’ve taught English as a TEFL teacher in Barcelona, dabbled a bit the art of indoor growing, and even had the unique opportunity to help organize a European contest for glassblowers.

Each of these roles has given me a new perspective, strengthened my adaptability, and deepened my appreciation for both hands-on and people-focused work.

This was my very first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. I am filled with gratitude for the time I spent with Claudia and Volker, two genuinely kind, generous, and thoughtful people who made me feel at home from the moment I arrived.

From the beginning, they welcomed me warmly and remained supportive,… read more attentive, and caring throughout my stay. Their deep knowledge of the island was invaluable, they provided great recommendations on where to go, what to see, and how to make the most of the surrounding beauty. Their care and sincerity were evident in every interaction.

They kindly offered me a lift to and from Puntagorda and even took me to a larger supermarket for a grocery run, small gestures that meant a lot. Claudia is an incredibly warm and generous soul. She shared her delicious home-cooked meals and baked treats, and our conversations were always rich, warm, and uplifting. Both she and Volker are wonderful individuals and an inspiring couple. It was a joy to be around them.

The accommodation was far beyond what I expected. I stayed in a beautiful wooden cabin that was fully equipped, impeccably clean, and more comfortable than I could have hoped for. And as a bonus, I was surrounded by their charming cats, a delightful presence that made my stay even more special.

The work was very manageable, always clearly explained, and tailored to my abilities. While the sun can get intense at times, working outdoors on their beautiful property, with ocean views and lush surroundings, was incredibly satisfying. I helped clear the garden of weeds, swept the stone paths and walls, and assisted Volker with some painting. Volker was always very patient and respectful.

Their honesty, wisdom, and gentle nature created a peaceful and uplifting environment where I felt completely at ease. The property itself is a slice of paradise, and the surrounding area is perfect for soul-soothing hikes. The island’s natural beauty, healing energy, and serenity offer the perfect chance to recharge, and reconnect with nature.

I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Claudia and Volker. If you're seeking quiet moments, stunning sunsets, meaningful connections, and unforgettable hikes this is the place for you.
