Description
Hi 😃👋 Fabio (or Lorenzo) here!
I’m an Italian traveller, artist and incurably curious person, travelling around with a backpack full of stories, books and probably too many random things I might “need later”. 🎒🌄🌍
I grew up in the deep countryside of Tuscany, between vineyards, oak woods and animals, not far from the beautiful city of Firenze (Florence). I’ve always been drawn to nature, history, art and anything that makes you stop and wonder, “How the hell did people, animals or nature come up with this?”
I’ve just come back home to Italy after four years in Australia, living alongside Aboriginal communities, koalas, coral reef islands and the oldest rainforest in the world. 🌏🐨🌿
📜👉 I’m an illustrator and photographer, mainly working on wildlife conservation projects around the world 🎨📷, so if you need artwork, photography, creative ideas or someone who gets unnecessarily excited about a little frog in the garden, I might be your guy.
But I’m definitely not only about art. I love manual work and I’m always happy to get my hands dirty, learn something new and challenge myself. I have experience with trekking, bushcraft, different kinds of campfires, cooking, navigation/orientation, some farm work and first aid. 🪵🔥🐏⛑️
❤️👉 I absolutely love trekking for weeks at a time, mountains, forests, natural sciences, history, castles and pretty much any historical abandoned building I’m allowed to stare at for an unreasonable amount of time.
I’m also a huge reader (I have more than 2,000 non-fiction books covering all sorts of subjects) so if you like sitting around a fire and talking for hours about nature, history, weird facts or completely random topics, we’ll probably get along very well. 🔥📚
And I’m always happy to share what I know while learning from other people. For me, that’s one of the best parts of travelling: I always have an empty space in my luggage for whatever I might learn along the way.
If you choose me, you’ll get a hardworking, open-minded and grateful person who is not afraid of physical work, getting dirty, learning new skills or trying something completely outside his comfort zone. 🌈🌟
And yes, I can cook too. I love foraging and creating dishes with local ingredients, like chestnut gnocchi, nettle bread, mushroom cakes and anything unconventional, although I’ll always recognize the value of a good old-fashioned pasta al pomodoro. 🍝😂
Hope to hear from you soon!
Ciao! 👋❤️ -

More details about your skills
I can cook with pretty much anything I can find in nature, give me a wool blanket and I can camp outside for weeks, building my own little base camp from scratch. 🪵🔥⛺ I also have some experience caring for animals, especially cows and goats, and a little experience with cheese making. 🐐🐄🧀 I can teach art, share stories and knowledge about wildlife and conservation, and I absolutely love telling very immersive stories around a fire: the kind where, after a while, you almost forget you’re sitting there and start seeing the story happening in front of you. 🔥🌲🦌🎨

What else ...
At the moment, I’m looking for a place where I could stay long-term. Somewhere in nature, away from the chaos of cities, where I can help out, work and do whatever is needed for a few hours a day, while also having some time and space to work on my own projects.
I’m currently following several wildlife conservation projects, so having a quiet place surrounded by nature would be ideal for me: a place where I can contribute, learn, get my hands dirty, and at the same time have a little base from which to keep working on what I do. 🌿🏕️🦌
I’m not looking for a holiday, but rather for a place I can genuinely become part of for a while. 🙂 -
