    Hello there!

Here's Milena, your 26 y.o. artsy digital nomad from Poland looking for a longer stay!

What I bring to the table:

    ~ Art projects and workshops:
If you'd like to learn how to make your own jewellery, try caligraphy, learn to draw, upcycle clothes, learn digital illustration in Procreate (iPad needed) - I'll gladly share my knowledge with you! I love doing random projects - if something on my pictures picked your interest, we can do it together!

    ~ Help around the house:
Cooking, cleaning, decluttering, running errands, decorating the space and upcycling, taking care of and playing with your animals, etc.

~ Photography, graphic design and illustration:
I'll gladly design leaflets, posters, stickers, educational folders for your initiatives, events, projects,

    ~ Companionship
Let's exchange stories and do handcrafts together, or go out

    ~ Language practice
I can practice English with you or teach you Polish

    ~ Wellness
I can teach you how to selfmassage, do a lymphatic drainage, face massage, calming breathing technique and stretching.

My dream workaway experience would take up to few months. I don't want to treat my stay as a trip - I'd rather get to know the area really well, experience the culture and work ethic through real everyday life.

Right now I'm especially interested in Nordic Countries. After exploring their cultures and landscapes, I'd love to stay a while in UK and I hope to visit Australia someday and work for underwater life.

Relevant work experience (cause my corporate job is not something I will ever come back to)
    - for years I worked in various fastfood chains, including a one full year in Germany.
    - organising kids' birthday parties in an indoor playground
    - waitressing on weddings
    - front desk service in a yoga school and store
    - 2 years as a bookbinder (manual work is my favourite one)
    - cleaning offices as a side hussle

All these jobs and relationships that I made along the way tought me much about myself, and here are the things that are important for me:
    • I'm up for open communication and feedback. I need some reassurnce from time to time. If something is wrong, let's just say it right away. If you've read my page, please message me your favourite colour :)
    • I need to spend a few hours during the day by myself everyday - that's how I rest.
    • Working in a structure is the best for me. After I get to know all my duties and potential stuff that I can do to help, I will later notice it all myself and you won't have to worry.
    • I value honesty, loyalty, respect for each other, kindness and peace.

My travel experience and favourite memories:
When I was 18 I went on a sailing trip with strangers. I won't forget Christiansø, a tiny beautiful island an hour away from Bornholm. The people in those places were so kind, I was shocked how every random person on the street greated us with a smile.
But everything really started with Erasmus - I spent a year in Germany and it was the best time of my life. Despite studying both on german and polish university simultaneously, and having to fund myself entirely, it was a life-changing experience which I'm the most grateful for.
Later my friend took me to his grandpa's family island in Croatia. There was only one store, one bakery and one pizzeria and not a single hotel. It was a place only for the people that were born there, where everybody knew each other. I think it might have been the most beautiful and peaceful place I visited so far.
After finishing germanistics, I could afford a few trips abroad, thanks to my corporate job. I spent an unplanned New Year's Eve in Palermo, where I met a group of french performers that travel only by their vintage boats, giving various art performances in harbours for a living. I was amazed by their lifestyle, talents and openness. It was such a contrast to my corporate life, and I was shocked that a life that they created for themself is even possible in our times.
My next trip was Switzerland. I travelled 22h to a tiny town up in the Alps, to see a performance of my favourite figure skater. But I experienced so much more than that. I won't forget sleeping under the Milky Way that I saw for the first time in my life, and being woken up by the bells of cows grazing high up in the mountains.
My last trip was Naples, where I flew with my friend. My favourite memory was a hike on Path of Gods near Sorrento. I won't forget a shelter made by just a few passionate men living without electricity, but running a shelter that felt like home, and everybody was welcomed with open arms, treated like family. They were singing traditional songs and playing various instruments that I have never seen before, encouraging everybody to join - once again, I was amazed by such an off-grid life.

    What I love:
    - Trees, blue sky, tall grass, stars, birds singing, sound of the sea, wildlife, underwater life, long "aimless" (but much needed) walks anywhere
    - Delicious food!
    - Ice skating, sailing, kayaking
    - Uplifting animated movies and computer games
    - Nature photography
    - Urban exploring and urban sketching

    Other interests:
Psychology, neurology, history that surrounds me.

Thank you so much for taking timw to read my profile!

If you think I may be a good fit for your project - let's have a video call :D
