  • Description

Hi! I’m Mia from tiny Salt Spring island BC, and my pronouns are She/Her. I love traveling, learning new skills, and meeting kind people. This would be my second time volunteering abroad, I have a strong connection to woofing through my family. My parents are both originally from Germany and came to Canada through WWOOFing, then got pregnant with me and well, here we are! I live on a small farm with a cat, a dog, two horses, and my mom has an amazing garden we eat from year round. I love spending time outside, rain or shine (and it is raining here most of the time) riding, hiking, camping etc. I've worked on an organic seed farm for two years and have finished my first year of university studying environmental science.

  • More details about your skills

Horses have been a huge part of my life, I started riding when I was 5 and haven't been able to stop since. I currently live on a farm with two horses (Hanoverians) that I help train and am the main rider of. Over the last couple years I've assisted with kids lessons and hope to become certified in the future.

One of my passions is theater, specifically set and props so I have a lot of knowledge of fabrication and can be creative with materials.

I helped my mom construct a tiny house, so I learned how to use various tools. I am a hard and willing worker able to creatively problem solve.

My family has a small business selling and making shoes so I have experience in retail and some handy work.

I know my way around the kitchen and can improvise based on what you have.

I also have spend quite a lot of time babysitting all ages, and have my babysitting license (first aid).
