Hi! I’m a 19-year-old math student from the French-speaking part of Switzerland, currently on a gap year travelling through Germany. Mostly to improve my German, but also to discover a bit more of the nature and the German cities. I'm currently in Freiburg and planning to make a trip through Hamburg, Berlin, etc.

A little bit about myself: I enjoy doing and teaching math, but also reading and writing poetry, going for walks and hikes, playing music, climbing.
I’m a very curious person and I love discovering new skills. Throughout this year, I want to help and get to know people, families and communities. I’m very eager to learn about new sustainable environments and give what I can in return, help with different sorts of tasks, take care of children and elderly :)

It is my first experience with workaway, and I’m very excited to share it with you!

More details about my language interests
I am very interested to improve my German, I currently have a B2 level and I would love to practice in an immersive manner (especially my speaking). I would also be curious to learn some notions of Mandarin, as I will be travelling to China this summer. In exchange, I am very happy to teach my native language French, or the other languages I have some experience (English, and a little bit of Spanish and Italian). I am also very interested in linguistics, etymology, and the history and culture related to languages :)

Whether it be my native language French, math, or even music and theater, I love teaching. More generally, I have a bit of experience in (and I really enjoy) helping children with school, playing or crafting with them, etc.

Moreover, I enjoy cooking and testing new dishes (I’m very good at making a meal with leftovers!), as well as helping with the garden or the farm :) I love spending time with people, helping where I can in the house, learning new practical skills, etc. I am a motivated learner and I can work on my own or under guidance.

I love playing games! My favourite ones are words games like Scrabble and CodeNames, but I also love card games, dice games, etc.

Also, I am part of multiple associations fighting for different causes (math contests for students, feminism, foodsharing, LGBTQ rights, etc.), so I have some sensitivity to these topics. I like to inform myself, create projects or activities, and discuss or philosophize about them :)
