I am currently doing an exchange program in Taipei and I'd like to take this opportunity to travel in Asia.

Hi everyone,
My name is Jade, I’m 20 years old and I come from France.
I’m currently an exchange student in Taipei at National Chengchi University, where I’m enrolled in the Diplomacy Department.🇹🇼
I’ve always been curious and interested in discovering new cultures and connecting with people from around the world (as I guess everyone here is!). I want to make the most of this exchange program as an opportunity to challenge myself, experience a new environment, and learn to adapt. I love to discover new things and broader my horizons! That's why, I always try new activities and I don't have a real specific hobby. I am currently doing taekwondo in Taiwan but last year, I practiced samba and afro dance. I do like sportives activities, I also would like to enjoy hiking in Taiwan ⛰️
My first volunteering experience was in Thailand with the NGO Phayao Education for the Future when I was 18. It was a wonderful experience. I was there to teach English to students, but honestly, I think I learned more from them than they did from me! Of course, I hope the lessons we created were useful for the students, but I’m especially grateful for everything I learned from the teachers, students, and local people there. It was an unforgettable cultural exchange.
That’s why I’d love to go abroad again with Workaway, to travel differently and get closer to local communities 💕

Learning the language is an entire part of the travel! As I am in Taiwan now, I am trying to learn mandarin. Moreover, I love education and teaching to all ages. I can teach english and french. A linguistic exchange english/ mandarin would also be so interesting to me!

First, passionate about international relations, I always try to improve my English skills. To do so, I went to Malta for a three-week language trip when I was 17. Traveling alone allowed me to develop greater autonomy and gain confidence in my language abilities!
Following this, my boyfriend and I took part in an international volunteering program in Thailand, where we taught English to local students. I learned how to work in a multicultural environment and to develop a pedagogical approach.
I also discovered my interest in education through my babysitting experience, which I have been doing since I was 16. I am able to take care of children, organize activities, and manage groups.
My seasonal work experience in the restaurant industry taught me how to work under pressure and as part of a team in a real professional environment, not only at school. I worked in the kitchen, so I am familiar with cooking, hygiene standards, and professional cleaning.Moreover, I also worked at a market, which helped me develop my interpersonal and sales skills.
Finally, thanks to my bachelor’s degree in political science, I have strong writing and speaking skills in both French and English.

I love animals! I grew up surrounded by them — I have a dog, a golden retriever, and two cats.
I love taking care of them, and during my trip to Asia, I would like to discover new species and spend time around animals.
