Description
Hi I’m Marika.
I’m an early career scientist and taking a break from working in a laboratory. I plan to travel, explore and take time to invest in my newfound passion for climbing while considering/ planning my next moves to work towards my goal of starting a research career. I have a real passion for sustainability and conservation of nature - which is a big part of my love for the outdoors. I love being active - I used to play rugby but following injury have found climbing, which is my big passion. I also love walking, hiking - and generally anything which involves working hard, being active and spending time outdoors!
I enjoy meeting new people and I am very sociable and confident - qualities which I have developed through long term work in hospitality, and various volunteering projects throughout my adult life. My previous experience of workaway has been amazing and I have made lifelong friends. I really want to further my experience of the world by travelling to new places and experience different cultures while working and participating in things I enjoy and helping others.
