Hi!
We are Mari and Cy from the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. We recently finished our degrees — Mari in Marine Biology and Environmental Studies and Cy in Linguistics — and we are excited to take some time to explore new parts of the world together. We are both hardworking and reliable, and love working with and learning from people all around the world.
A big passion of Mari’s is protecting and improving animal welfare. She grew up in a family that deeply valued the natural world, spending much of her youth exploring nature and building a love and respect for animals. Her travels to Central America where she spent time at a dog shelter further inspired her desire to work toward better lives for animals around the world.
Cy enjoys seeking out challenging projects, and putting energy into meaningful tasks, whether it's learning new skills, taking on physical work, or finding creative solutions to problems. With experience in ranching, construction, wildland firefighting, and professional landscaping his love for tackling new challenges keeps him motivated and open in all situations.
We’re excited about the idea of traveling while giving back to the communities we visit. Growing up in supportive places taught us how important it is to get involved locally. Whenever we can, we like to pitch in, whether it’s volunteering at events, helping with fundraisers, or working on community projects. Now, we’re looking forward to bringing that same spirit with us as we explore new places and meet new people around the world.Interests

More details about your skills
I have experience looking after animals, as locally I have had jobs caring for other people’s animals-horses, dogs and cats-and own a dog of my own. I also spent some time in South America volunteering at a dog shelter and am comfortable with a wide variety of animals.
I worked at an outdoor education centre so I have a skillset when it comes to interacting and working with other people. At this job I was also tasked with cleaning different facilities, yard work and gardening.
I have participated in programs, jobs and courses that have enhanced my leadership skills. These opportunities have allowed me to feel comfortable taking on leadership roles in group settings.Age
