Description
Hi :)
I am Mae, I finished my midwifery studies and started traveling in June 2025.
I’m interested in community life, sustainability and birthwork all around the world. I love gardening and cooking and I'm the most happy when I can contribute to something and have nature around me.
I’m comfortable managing household tasks, to work with guests and caring for animals - often I see well what work needs to be done on my own.
I'm an empathetic person, and the well-being of those around me is important to me. However, I can also stand up for myself and communicate my boundaries. In general, open and honest communication is important to me.
Through Workaway, I hope to meet new people in different projects, exchange ideas, and immerse myself in different cultures and ways of life. I’m excited to take on new challenges, improve my skills, and offer my help wherever it’s needed.

More details about your skills
I’m a quick learner with a good sense for following instructions. I often recognize what needs to be done and take initiative.
I worked in different setting in the past. At a farm - in the fields and at the market. I gave swimming lessons for Kids and organized a girl summer camp. Throughout my midwifery studies I was working in different health care settings.
I’m comfortable using tools like a hammer, drill, chainsaw, and axe. I can plant, weed, and harvest, as well as decorate, paint, tidy up, clean, and organize. I also enjoy sorting and decluttering, and I’m happy to help with household chores.
I have an international driver’s license and have been driving for ten years. I also have experience with photography, though I don’t have my own camera with me.
One thing I really love about Workaway is that you gain skills you can carry with you for life. Through Workaway I’ve learned how to chop wood, use a chainsaw, and even install a floor. I’ve discovered new recipes and learned how to cook for 20–30 people and how to make a salve. I gained knowledge about plants and herbal medicine and planted my first tree. I’ve also improved my English and experienced what it means to live in a community.
I'm looking forward to continue learning!
A few things I would like to learn:
Spanish, some carpentry, how to bake (sourdough) bread, recipes, playing the Guitar, different ways of sustainable living and to experience different types of communities, birthwork in different cultures, different artistic outlets, surfing
