Hey! I’m Lydia, an illustrator and designer from the UK. I’m currently travelling solo around New Zealand on a working Holiday visa and loving exploring the country. I am especially keen for any opportunity to be creative and or opportunities to enrich my illustration practice. I also want to gain some conservation experience and learn about native flora and fauna.

I love the outdoors and am a keen hillwalker/hiker, wild swimmer and bird watcher and try to get out into the countryside as often as I can. I love hands-on practical jobs and I love to make things and am always looking to develop new skills.

I would say my main motivation, is to experience new things, ways of life and look at life through somebody else’s eyes. Travelling solo is fun but I would like to meet new people and am keen to get involved with family life.

I am very creative, I've painted murals, made animations and lead workshops through my career as an illustrator.

I have worked as an artist facilitator and an art technician and so was involved in a lot of hands-on jobs - making displays, building props for school shows, organising stock and classrooms - and probably the most noteworthy was cleaning ALOT of paintbrushes.

I have experience working in a variety of customer service roles, I've worked in shops, cafes, restaurants, some farm work and as an housekeeper and have managed a few teams too!

I have a lot of experience with children, I have two teenage nieces! and have worked with adults with learning difficulties.Other random skills include baking, trying to identify birds and my party trick is hula hooping!
