Lydia:
I am taking a year out from a full time job in the marine sector. I have an undergraduate and a postgraduate degree in marine biology. I have had experience working for charities as well as governmental organisations which led me to take part in marine surveys.
Outside of my professional career I have had many hospitality jobs including being a solo chalet host in France where I hosted and fed 8 people, 3 meals a day. I have also had experience with working with and organising children’s activities at a campsite for a summer.
I am great with practical organisation. I am also competent with many basic manual tasks that come with owning your own house and doing your own repairs/decorating, indoor and out in the garden. This includes working with power tools.
Miscellaneous skills:
- swimming instructor

I have lots of experience of vegetation management with using petrol powered chainsaws, strimmers, mowers and winches as well as handheld tools.
I have taken part in several volunteer field work groups with charities and know what it takes to keep a project going in a practical way.
I have had experience with working with children and organising activities.
I have had previous jobs in hospitality in cleaning accommodation and in making and serving food.
Miscellaneous skills:
- RYA powerboat level 2
- Sailing instructor
- Competent at driving large vehicles
- Fence building and mending
- Practical DIY skills
- Proficient bicycle mechanic

What else ...
Rich used to be the president of the ukulele society at our old university, so can play and sing guitar also.
We love water sports! We’re not that great at any apart from sailing and swimming, but we’ve given most of them a good go.
We’ve both done some charity work with a loggerhead sea turtle organisation in Greece for a summer each, 10 years ago.
We have been together for over 10 years!
