  • Description

Hello! My name is Lucía, and I would describe myself as a curious, open-minded, and adventurous person who loves learning new skills and exploring different cultures. I recently completed an internship in New York, where I worked on research exploring the connection between breathing and brain activity. Now, I’m excited to begin my next adventure: traveling through Central America over the coming months!

My first destination is the Dominican Republic, where I want to experience island life, learn from the locals, and continue opening my mind beyond what I already know. I come from a very small town in Spain and have an incredible family who means the world to me. While my essence is more about flying and exploring than staying close to home, I feel deeply connected to them—they are one of the foundations of my happiness and my daily life, even from a distance.

At 17, I moved to another city in Spain to study Psychology and even had the chance to spend a year abroad in Greece. During that year, I also traveled to several countries, immersing myself in different cultures and experiences. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, which has allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds throughout my travels.

One of my personal projects is to create my own online psychology practice, allowing me to work while traveling. I am continuously learning and developing my skills to make this dream a reality. My goal is to offer a holistic approach in my practice, connecting nutrition, overall well-being (including meditation and mindfulness), and the emotional and cognitive aspects of psychology.

Although I’m new to WorkAway, I have embraced a similar spirit of sharing and connection through Couchsurfing, where I’ve been both a traveler and a host. Traveling has been a huge part of my life, and I’ve learned how to adapt, connect with people from different cultures, and contribute wherever I go. I’m excited to bring this mindset to the WorkAway community and to share meaningful experiences with hosts and fellow travelers.
Oh, and don’t worry, I didn’t bring a Spanish siesta schedule with me… but if you offer a hammock, I might reconsider!
