Description
Hello! We are Lauren and Saf, a mother and daughter duo from the UK. Soon we will be embarking on a workaway adventure where we can connect with likeminded families and do the things that we love.
We would love to volunteer with families with young children that practice conscious parenting and where we we can help look after animals (especially horses!), help out in the garden and take part in creative projects. I am fluent in Spanish. Saf knows a few words.
I am an experienced Couch Surfer and Workawayer. I've lived and travelled all over the world including Korea, Siberia, Mongolia, South America and South Africa. I have lots of stories and I speak several languages which I love to share. Saf and I love spending time outdoors and learning about nature. I am interested in medicinal herbs and foraging. I also make some drift wood art. We love being creative! Saf is full of life. She loves climbing, running around, drawing and playing with other children.
Until recently I have been running one of the very first sober group travel companies, but I've decided to part ways with the business in search of a life that better suits my daughter and I. I've recently started working in a local organic farm and I absolutely love it!
I'm an aspiring writer and will soon be launching a blog called "Adventures of a Sober Single Mum"! I'm interested in home education/unschooling and I'm excited about creating a life for Saf and I full of community, creativity and adventure.
If you are wondering why I got rated "good" and not "excellent" on one of my past workaways, it was because I didn't stay for the full time. The living conditions were very rough. That said, I had a good relationship with the host. Feel free to reach out to her :-)
FUN FACT - I'm a huge rally driving fan! Whenever I have the funds, I go rally driving at my local motorsports centre. Saf and I also go to local rally driving events together.

I am a degree-qualified Spanish Interpreter and linguist. I also have experience teaching both Spanish and English. I have always loved learning languages and will happily learn some basic phrases in the host's language if it's not one that I already speak.
